Did You Know...

... that Norwegian Freeflyer Derek Broughton helps out in 8-way?

Derek Broughton with the Norwegian 8-way team
posted Aug 4th, 2010 - It's time for some videos. NSL-TV is trying to catch up, first in 8-way, before the last rounds will decide over the medals. The judges are not working on the videos of Round 8 yet, and the first three 8-way rounds are now available for reviews on NSL-TV.

It is a little bit slower in the morning since the judges are waiting for all videos to be available. There is a chain reaction that leads to the slower pace in 8-way. Norway registered an 8-way team in the last minute, hats up, by the way. Both Norwegian 4-way teams joined forces to allow the IPC handing out 8-way medals in 8-way to the three top teams.

However, Sissel Maria Finnseth has a shoulder injury and goes through pain just to compete in 4-way. She cannot make the 8-way jumps in addition.

Former Arcteryx member Derek Broughton was neither planning to compete in 4-way nor in 8-way. He is in Menzelinsk to represent Norway in Freeflying. He came to help when the 8-way team was one person short.

The Artistic Events and 8-way competition take place at the same time, due to jump altitude. It is challenging for the Norwegian competitors and the meet management to coordinate the double duties, but it has been working so far. Judging of Round 8 begins now, and the scores will be posted soon.
