posted Aug 20th, 2023 - The NSL News has successfully transitioned to Skydive Voss in Norway and is set up for the live coverage of the FAI Outdoor World Cup 2023. As usual, the coverage begins with the sightseeing tour of the location where the teams compete for FAI medals.

Skydive Voss was a very busy place on Sunday, There is only one more training day left for the teams to become familiar with the logistics, jump planes and surroundings. Monday is the official training day, and the competition draw will be done in the evening. Round 1 is scheduled for Tuesday morning.

An opening ceremony will follow at the end of the first competition day downtown Voss. The event will have its first leaderboard with scores at the time of the opening ceremony on Tuesday, and the time of the previews and NSL Power Rankings will be replaced with real scoring numbers and videos.

Arizona Airspeed and the French 4-way Open Class were in full action on Sunday, while the Qatar Tigers arrived at the end of the day. NMP PCH HayaBusa arrive on Monday and will be the last of the expected Top 4 to test the very impressive environment. The breath-taking view of the mountains and fjords can easily catch the attention of skydivers in the air over Voss. The NSL News sightseeing tour provides an overview of the first-class skydiving and competition facilities.

Very busy arrival and training Sunday at Skydive Voss

The 4-way Women teams were just as busy as the ones in 4-way Open. The new French lineup and NFTO joined the busy training action, together with Germany's Meltemi Oceanside and Norway's young Thyra lineup. DeLand Norgies/Norgyx member Pal Kolbenstvedt was filling a slot when a team member had to take a break with sinus troubles.

4-way Woman favorite XPG4 had a late and slow start on Sunday, while the other U.S. teams in 4-way Open and 8-way jumped from Cessna Caravan (4-way) and Twin Otter (8-way). GKXP8, the U.S. 8-way team and top favorite, did not have training scheduled for Sunday after the late arrival of the Paraclete XP delegation.

Most of the teams in Voss have their national championship events scheduled for the time period after the outdoor world cup. The new Czech 4-way champions, Skywalkers Junior, completed their ten rounds yesterday, which made it practically almost impossible to be ready for the next Round 1 a few days later.

Germany's national teams in Voss, Airbus Illertissen Oceanside in 4-way Open and Meltemi Oceanside in 4-way Women, have only a few days of travel time from Norway back to Saarlouis in Germany for the next Round 1 of the national outdoor championship. The four British 4-way teams will be next a week later.
