Did You Know...

... that the Texas teams finished with new record numbers at the Dallas Super Cup?

Awards at the Spaceland Dallas Super Cup
posted Aug 15th, 2023 - Three of the four Texas teams who competed at the Spaceland Pre-Nationals 2023, followed up with the next opportunity that the Texas Skydiving League offered to get well prepared for the USPA Nationals in September, the Dallas Super Cup 2023.

Meet director Kyle Hermberg, who also manages the Indoor Cloud League team at iFLY Dallas, informed the NSL News that three additional RRR Class teams completed the six rounds at Skydive Spaceland's Dallas location.

Spaceland Saboteurs and Spaceland Toxic confirmed their positions as USPA medal contenders in their respective categories (4-way Advanced - 4-way Intermediate) that the NSL News pointed out with the update on July 21st. In fact, both teams lifted their meet averages to new record levels in the run-up to the national outdoor championships.

Spaceland Toxic finished with the highest meet average in the team's AA/Intermediate Class history. Team captain and founder Demo McDonnell has only one other 12+ average in the Toxic records, which was posted by a different lineup in the A Class of an indoor competition in September 2016.

Spaceland Saboteurs - Spaceland Toxic - Disturbance Delicious at the Dallas Super Cup 2023
Spaceland Saboteurs with the Dallas Super Cup
The average of all 16 rounds that the three Texas teams completed in July and August is probably reflecting the approximate scoring level that can be expected, and the meet experiences make it more likely that they will deliver similar numbers or higher next month at Skydive Paraclete XP.

Spaceland Toxic stand at an 11.0 average after all 16 rounds, which would have won their own bronze medals in 4-way AA/Intermediate at the last USPA Nationals 2022, one point behind the 2nd place. Any 12+ average with the new lineup would also be a new outdoor record for the Toxic team.

Spaceland Saboteurs are looking at a 15.3 average after their 16 rounds in July and August. Amanda Lampton and Lucas King have already moved beyond their highest 10-round meet average together (14.8) that they posted in 4-way Open at the USPA Nationals 2016. Dallas 350 with only Lucas King in the lineup won the 4-way Advanced Class gold medals in 2014 with a 15.1 average. He is probably aiming at the 16.0 average for a 10-round meet that he has in his books with the Dallas 350 4-way Open lineup of 2016. Disturbance Delicious finished below the July numbers with a different lineup. Donaldo Grajeda, who was on camera for the team in July, replaced Sydney Lunceford.
