Did You Know...

... that Polish 4-way competition seems to be on the Czech path?

AA Class winner in Roosendaal: HF Cubs
posted Nov 25th, 2017 - The NSL News published an update on 19 November 2017 that covered this year's 4th Flyspot Open Championship in Poland and the ongoing domestic battle for the AAA Class top spot between No Mercy and Sky4four. The scores of this event are history by now, and the same two teams were back in action just a week later.

In fact, almost all of the teams that competed again on Friday had also attended the Flyspot Open 2017. Two of the three visiting teams from the Czech Republic (Skycentrum, HF Cubs) then traveled to Roosendaal in the Netherlands a week later to attend the ISR Grand Prox 2017 yesterday, as well.

The Polish teams had their own league meet and competed on home turf one day before the competition in Roosendaal. The Flyspot Liga event was a 6-round meet, while the teams at the ISR Grand Prix completed eight rounds.

The HF Junior Cubs won the AA Class competition in Roosendaal in an 18-team field with teams from four countries after finishing in 2nd place at the Flyspot Open. The Olczyk Flyspot Team had won the AA Class competition in Warsaw a week earlier.

AA Class winner at Flyspot: Olczyk Team
The Olczyk Flyspot Team competed for the first time in the AA Class at the Flyspot Open to offer the HF Cubs a competition in Poland. The other two Polish teams were not strong enough to challenge the Czech 4-way juniors.

The Olczyk family team was not only able to challenge the HF Cubs but eventually won the AA Class duel by nine points (224 - 215).

It was a very interesting duel. The HF Cubs lineup consists of four young Czech ladies who compete in the 4-way junior category.

The Olczyk Flyspot Team is a complete 4-way family with father Marek and mother Agnieszka, and their daughters Dominika and Zaneta are female 4-way juniors, as well.

However, the Olczyk family went back into the A Class competition for the Flyspot Liga meet where they easily won with a 26.2 average. The Flyspot Liga meets have no other AA Class participation so far.

AAA Class winner at Flyspot: No Mercy
4-way competition in Poland seems to take a very similar direction as it has developed in the Czech Republic.

Jan Klapka carefully set up regular 4-way training and competition activities, first only with outdoor league events before the Hurricane Factory started the indoor operation.

Then he expanded by offering regular indoor training and competition and integrated the 4-way juniors fully in the 4-way training environment.

The results of the project are easy to see, as the Czech Republic has become a major player in the 4-way competition world, and the Czech teams (HF Cubs, HF Chicks) brought home two sets of bronze medals from the FAI Indoor World Meet 2017 in Montreal.

The progression in Poland has accelerated in a similar way with the Flyspot indoor activities, and teams from Poland have been regulars at the most popular bigger indoor meets.

And by the way, No Mercy finished once again with a new team record averages on Friday...
