Did You Know...

... that the Pro Team won with a Tigers rear piece in Finland?

A Class teams at the Finnish Nationals 2016
posted Jul 31st, 2016 - Finland was the third Scandinavian country completing the national championships this year, after Denmark and Sweden.

Three teams are on this week's leaderboard, and the two new A Class teams are ahead of the 3-Ring Circus from the Northern Plains while waiting for more scores from Germany.

The two A Class teams from Finland had actually a very close battle. Only the 3-pointer in Round 5 threw Ne Piirtaa Kell On Liituu too far behind, and Round 8 did not help much either, while Tempo had a very consistent performance.

The Pro Team is the only AAA Class team on this weekend's leaderboard so far.

However, Finland's former national 4-way team is once again providing very interesting information, after a 1-year outdoor hibernation and this year's attendance at the World Challenge 2016, with 4-way junior Kalle Pohjola in the Pro Team Extended lineup.

Tigers at the World Meet 2014 in Prostejov
The Tigers, Finland's national team in 4-way Open at the FAI World Meet 2014 in Prostejov and defending champion of 2015, did not compete at last week's national championships.

The Pro Team had actually won the nationals in 2013 and 2014 but had no travel plans to the world meet in Prostejov.

The Tigers then won the nationals last year, where the Pro Team did not compete, and it was the other way around last week.

The interesting part of the story from Finland comes with the Pro Team lineup.

Eija Suvala is an original member of the Pro Team and posted the highest outdoor average in the country's 4-way history (20.4) at the FAI World Meet 2010 in Menzelinsk, including the record-breaking 43-pointer in Round 3, together with Laura Miettinen, Outi and Kimmo Pohjola, plus Mikko Kajala on camera.

Tigers at the World Challenge 2016
Eija Suvala then joined the Tigers in 2015 and still competed with them at the World Challenge 2016 in her inside center slot.

Her piece partner was Jorma Lofgren in the tail slot, one of the original Tigers members.

This week's Pro Team lineup at the national championships had the complete rear piece of the Tigers joining forces with the original Pro Team front piece (Outi and Kimmo Pohjola), while Petri Mastola was filming this time.

Eija Suvala's returning to the Pro Team brings back together three original members.

Her Tigers and now Pro Team piece partner Jorma Lofgren posted his highest meet average since the Nationals 2009, where the Tigers ended up four points behind the Pro Team (159 - 155) who went on to compete for Finland in Menzelinsk 2010...
