Did You Know...

... that two French national coaches are opponents at the Mondial 2016?

Coaches Jerome David and Marin Ferre in Menzelinsk 2010
posted Apr 17th, 2016 - The NSL Profiles have a new career story on the ever-growing page of celebrities in the sport. Jeremie Rollett, currently coach of the Qatar Tigers, provided some personal information, and the Sun Path Products NSL News added the stepping stones since his first selection for the French national 8-way team in 2003 and his current job with the Tigers.

Jeremie Rollett is the 4th Frenchman in the NSL Profiles, and it is pure coincidence that all four are former 4-way and/or 8-way world champions who became professional coaches when they were done with active training and competition in the French national teams.

In fact, there is even one exception, as the current national coach Mathieu Bernier is still in the French 8-way lineup, which will try to challenge the Golden Knights for the 8-way gold medals at the Mondial 2016 in September.

Coach Mathieu Bernier in Teuge 2015
Jerome David won 4-way gold medals for France in 1991 and 1993. The studied sports professor was hired as the national coach in 1994 and made it to the NSL Profiles after guiding the French delegation to the complete FS-Sweep in Menzelinsk 2010.

Marin Ferre won 4-way gold medals for France (1999, 2003) after the Airspeed dominance between 1995 and 1997. He has been a technical coach for the French national 4-way teams ever since, under the guidance of the three national coaches (Jerome David, Jeremie Rollett, Mathieu Bernier) in this time period.

Mathieu Bernier's NSL Profile was overdue for years after he became the first and only Formation Skydiving competitor in the history of the sport who won 4-way and 8-way gold medals at the same World Championship of Formation Skydiving in Menzelinsk 2010.

Coach Jeremie Rollett in Prostejov 2014
Jeremie Rollett has been Mathieu Bernier's team mate ever since they were both selected for the French national 8-way team in 2003. He was in the support team of 2010 that made it possible for Mathieu Bernier to accomplish something that has never been done before, even though the complete 4-way lineup of 2010 was very close to win double-gold in 2008.

Jeremie Rollett has studied sports at university, as well, and he took over as the national coach when Jerome David stepped back with the greatest success that a coach could be dreaming of.

It took a little while until Jeremie Rollett had straightened out the new situation, and budget cuts did not make it much easier. However, the current French national teams in 4-way Open and 8-way are now back on the road to the world's top spots that the French Girls have not given up yet since 2010.

Mathieu Bernier was in Jeremie Rollett's coaching staff when he became the national coach in 2011, and it was no surprise that he took the position when Jeremie Rollett accepted the coaching job with the Qatar Tigers, who are now in pursuit of medals at the next world meet - against the French 4-way Open Class team...
