Did You Know...

... that SkyVenture Montreal hosted Canada's Indoor Nationals 2016?

Evolution with Nick Grillet
posted Mar 29th, 2016 - The latest scores on the front page came from France, where the Flyzone wind tunnel hosted the first official French Indoor Nationals.

The national B-Team, Artemis Saumur, now without national coach Mathieu Bernier, won with a 23.5 average while the French national teams in 4-way Open and 4-way Women are on their way to Bedford for the World Challenge 2016.

Canada also held the national indoor championships earlier this month, on the weekend between the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2016 and the Shamrock Showdown 2016.

In contrary to the French national championships, the Canadian national teams can win medals.

Evolution (4-way Open) and Parachute Montreal Fuzion (4-way Women) both competed and took the first two places. Evolution's VFS lineup also won the gold medals in the team's other event.

Ready for World Challenge: Parachute Montreal Fuzion
Fuzion posted a very impressive 25.0 average and will be ready to take on the best teams on the 4-way Women leaderboard at the World Challenge 2016.

The scores of the French FLY-IN Girls will be posted on the Open Class leaderboard, and Fuzion will take a closer look at the French scores, as well.

Evolution had a complete lineup neither in 4-way Open nor in VFS. Nick Grillet, who later competed with Turbo 2.0 at the outdoor competition in DeLand, was filling in for Vincent Lemay.

Monika Wittmer, Benoit Lemay's partner in the Freeflying events, competed with Evolution in VFS.

The leaderboard of the Canadian Indoor Nationals shows several teams and competitors who are also posting scores regularly for the Indoor Cloud League sequences and SkyVenture Montreal's monthly account.

New 4astrophe lineup
4astrophe, with 4-way junior Yannick Bisson and his father Richard, have a new lineup, as sister/daughter Valerie Bisson trains and competes with the national team Fuzion.

Richard Bisson said that the newest member Nicolas Malley is a skydiver at Parachute Montreal:

"He is a very talented young skydiver and was supposed to be replacing Michel Lemay in Evolution years ago, but that did not work. He is a PFF instructor, Tandem Instructor and also a member of the National Canopy Piloting Team."

The new 4astrophe lineup finished with the team's highest indoor average.

Yannick Bisson also joined forces again with his freeflying partner Coralie Boudreault, and their team Flashpoint won the 2-way FS Junior category and the 2-way Junior Artistic Freefly. Seven junior teams competed in these categories. 4astrophe member Guillaume Boileau was coaching Flashpoint.

Richard Bisson also competed with Slim Jim in the AA Class, who have been posting Indoor Cloud League highscores on a regular basis for SkyVenture Montreal. Slim Jim had to accept the 2nd place after a tough battle with Flying Creepers.

Three of the six A Class teams consisted of 4-way juniors, as well, and iFLY Toronto's Tunnel Vision took the 1st place with an impressive 19.9 average. Richard Bisson said that Coralie Boudreault's father Jean-François competed for the first time at the Canadian Indoor Nationals and ended up winning a bronze medal with Confusion.

Parachute Montreal Fuzion will now represent Canada at the unofficial indoor world championships in Bedford, which begins with Round 1 on Friday morning.
