posted Aug 26th, 2015 - The Sun Path Products NSL News continues with the 8-way topic, which was recently covered with a preview of the 8-way competition at the FAI World Cup 2015.

The next 8-way event is actually coming up very soon in Germany, where the national championships in Saarlouis include an 8-way event with several teams. The Sun Path Products NSL News will report live from the competition site.

There has been only one 8-way indoor competition so far, which has been a part of the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship since 2011. 8-way indoor competition is realistically only possible in a flying chamber that has a diameter of at least 16 ft.

The Paraclete XP chamber is the only one in the USA with that size, and several 8-way teams visit the event every year.

The new FAI indoor division, with annual world meets and world cups, has not scheduled an 8-way competition yet in the organization's very young indoor history.

The FAI Indoor World Cup 2014 took place at the 14-foot chamber of iFLY Austin, and this year's FAI World Indoor Skydiving Championship is hosted by the Hurricane Factory in Prague with a 14-foot flying chamber.

However, there will be another 8-way indoor competition this year, and it will be a part of the Clash of Champions at Inflight Dubai.

The Sun Path Products NSL News introduced all categories of the event on July 23rd, and the 8-way Open Class competition alone offers a jackpot of $57,000 ($25,000 - $20,000 - $15,000) for the three best teams.

Pete Allum, Formation Skydiving Coordinator and Chief Judge at the Clash of Champions, said that dive pool, rules and regulations for the 8-way competition in Dubai will be the same as they are at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship.

The Golden Knights missed this year's 8-way competition at Paraclete after winning with a 30.7 average in 2014. However, there is another 8-way indoor event coming up at the end of the year, before the US Army's Formation Skydiving delegation competes for the USA at the World Air Games.

The Clash of Champions is scheduled right before the World Air Games, and at least the invited national 8-way teams have an easy opportunity to add another meet to the portfolio.

The Golden Knights are the US national 8-way team, and the 4-way Women lineup of the Golden Knights has been the national team in this category for several years.

Both teams have been invited, and they have the World Air Games on this year's agenda. The 8-way event at the Clash of Champions will be a good way to get into the competition mode and possibly take some cash back home...
