Did You Know...

... that iFLY Orlando opened the Indoor Cloud League August competition with 102 points?

Florida's ICL team at i FLY Orlando last Thursday
posted Aug 16th, 2015 - The first Indoor Cloud League scores and videos for the August sequences are posted, and a complete set for the six categories was provided by the Florida Skydiving League team at iFLY Orlando.

The FSL group met last Thursday for the first tunnel night this month, just a few days before the next outdoor competition. The 18 FSL flyers put together six different lineups, and four of them contributed scoring points to iFLY Orlando's ICL August account for a total of 102 points.

Hal Spence, Sebastian Jimenez, James Hall and Kurt Gaebel posted the scores for the AAA and AA Class sequences, and DeLand Flashpoint's lineup with substitute Leslie Eggenberger added the A Class points. Jim Prochaska sat on the bench with health troubles, and Leslie Eggenberger took his Center Inside slot. It was her first entry for a AA Class sequence, as well.

iFLY Orlando's best Rookie Class lineup last Thursday provided the scores for the R and RR Class sequences. James Hall, Brad Weinberg, Nicolas Davis and James Kirt actually had the highest score for the RRR Class sequence, as well. However, the ICL rules and regulations allow the same lineup only to post scores in two neighboring categories.

Brad Weinberg and Nicolas Davis had joined Florida's Indoor Cloud League team earlier this year. They have recently formed a new Rookie Class team, the DeLand Falcons, and their third team member, James Kirt, attended his first ICL event last Thursday. Trevor Cedar is the fourth member and player coach.

Two more Rookie Class lineups performed the same sequences. Hal Spence and Kurt Gaebel had Brian Lee and Cedric Sanchez in their lineup. Brian Lee had visited one ICL event a few years ago, and Cedric Sanchez trained and competed for iFLY Orlando's ICL account for the first time.

Brian Lee's and Cedric Sanchez' contribution of the 13-pointer was needed, as the 16-pointer by the DeLand Falcons could not be used for the official ICL leaderboard.

Bob Palatka and Michael Rendon, with Flashpoint members Steve Hubbard and Jairo Garcia in their lineup, tied the RR Class score and outscored the other Rookie Class lineup in the R Class. However, Brian Lee and Cedric Sanchez had the better RRR Class performance and ended up on the ICL leaderboard.

The scores from iFLY Orlando were not the first ones this month. Two teams from the Netherlands had opened up the ICL August competition with M4trix's 24-pointer in the AAA Class and 4igamie's 13-pointer in the AA Class at Indoor Skydive Roosendaal. Both teams will compete at the Dutch national championship next week in the same categories.
