Did You Know...

... that Thunder ISR finished with a team record average at the ISR Grand Prix 2014?

28.4 average at the ISR Grand Prix 2014: Thunder ISR
posted Dec 12th, 2014 - The Sun Path Products NSL News was in the middle of the live coverage for the 5th Dubai International Parachuting Championship when 55 teams competed at the ISR Grand Prix 2014 at the same time.

The story on 30 November 2014 offered an update from Roosendaal after the completion of Round 6. The missing scores for Rounds 7 and 8 were added a few days later.

The complete video footage of the AAA Class winner Thunder ISR's competition rounds can now be reviewed, as well. It shows the arguably best amateur team in the world in the successful pursuit of a new team record average. The 28.4 Thunder average in Roosendaal was far out of reach for any other team in the AAA Class competition.

2nd place by one point: M4trix
There was still great competition at this year's ISR Grand Prix. In fact, the most exciting battle took place right behind Thunder in the AAA Class. M4trix, the 4-way lineup of the Dutch national 8-way team M8trix, had a 2-point lead after Round 6. Creeps was able to win Round 7 by one point to make it a 1-point situation before the final round.

M4trix defended the 1-point lead successfully and took the 2nd place behind Thunder.

There was also a horse race in the AA Class between the Blue Rebels from Greece and Spritz from Italy. Spritz had created a 2-point lead after Round 4 and defended it throughout the remaining four rounds. Both teams tied each others' scores in the whole second half of the meet, and eventually nothing changed.

Original Hayabusa lineup at the World Meet 2006 in Germany
Thunder ISR is now in the planning stage for the 2015 season, which will be the 5th year since the current lineup came together after the World Meet 2010 in Menzelinsk.

The new plans intensify the connection and relationship between Thunder and NMP-PCH Hayabusa. Center Inside Sven Ibens was in Hayabusa's first and original lineup and left the team after the World Meet 2006 in Germany. Roy Janssen, David and Andy Grauwels had decided to join the Belgian Army and become full time competitors and future world champions. Sven Ibens became a father the same year and continued as a recreational 4-way competitor.

The recent NSL Talk of the Sun Path Products NSL News with all Hayabusa members in Dubai included the news that Thunder and the new 4-way world champions are working on plans for a casual 8-way project, which would bring the original Hayabusa lineup back together in action. Thunder and Hayabusa 8-way updates will follow as soon as the planning has been completed.
