Did You Know...

... that Janine Tillenburg is the new AtomiX member?

German 214-way world record in Eloy
posted Nov 9th, 2014 - It was not too long ago that the German 4-way team AtomiX made the Sun Path Products NSL News headline.

The story on 15 October 2014 reported that AtomiX finished with the third consecutive 13.8 average within a month at the ESL Championship 2014.

The story mentioned that team members Andrea Kleinschmidt and Peter Ingenhaag would still have one more event on the calendar this year.

They traveled to Eloy, Arizona, in October where German skydivers successfully completed a 214-way for a new national and world record.

AtomiX had also finalized the plans for the 2015 season with the same lineup.

Then things changed, and team speaker Peter Ingenhaag updated the Sun Path Products NSL News with a surprising personnel change and good news from the German national coach Mathias "Mausi" Maushake.

15.2 average with Gamma Ray: Janine Tillenburg in 2013
Peter Ingenhaag said that his team was excited and proud that the national coach selected AtomiX as Germany's national B-team. Team Airbus won the German Nationals 2014, where AtomiX placed 2nd.

The German national team of 2014, Paratec-Saar, competed at the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2014 and did not attend the national championships.

The personnel change comes after two very successful years for the young team and the original lineup (Peter Ingenhaag - Inside Center, Janina Jungen - Tail, Andrea Kleinschmidt - Point, Holger Sass - Outside Center, Lars Naeve - Video).

Janina Jungen is leaving the team, and AtomiX has a new team member who is also from the same new German 4-way generation that AtomiX grew up with. Peter Ingenhaag said that his team is glad to have an adequate new member who they expect to fill the slot seamlessly.

3rd place with Chicas: Janine Tillenburg at the German Nationals 2014
Janine Tillenburg is the new AtomiX member, and she is not new to the Sun Path Products NSL News at all. Last year's news update on 30 April introduced her as Gamma Ray's new point, and an even earlier story on 4 January 2011 mentioned her for the first time as a part of her family team Connatural.

Gamma Ray finished with a 15.2 average at the German Nationals 2013, with Janine Tillenburg in the point slot. Gamma Ray had no plans for the 2014 season, and Janine Tillenburg eventually joined the Chicas reunion at this year's national championships where she ended up in 3rd place, six points behind AtomiX.

Gamma Ray's 15.2 average in 2013 shows that Janine Tillenburg is well prepared for her new team, where she may have to switch to the tail slot. In fact, she has posted the highest meet average of all members in the new AtomiX lineup. It is no surprise that her team mates are excited to have her for the near future...
