Did You Know...

... that Yannick Bisson is the youngest AAA Class competitor in history?

4strophe 2014 lineup at the World Challenge 2014
posted Jun 11th, 2014 - The Sun Path Products NSL News reported on 6 June 2014 that Evolution member Katie Woods is a family team expert. The headline was not only related to the fact that she trains and competes with three brothers (Martin, Vincent, Benoit Lemay) and also has a brother (James Woods) who is a talented 4way competitor.

The recent coincidence brought her together with the Canadian Bisson family, where father Richard trains and competes with his daughter Valerie and his son Yannick. Katie Woods filled an open slot for 4Astrophe when Center Inside Marie-Eve Dallaire was not available to perform the Indoor Cloud League sequences for May and collect ICL points for SkyVenture Montreal.

The story needed an update when 4Astrophe's Center Inside and father Richard Bisson said that his team had also performed the AAA Class sequence for May and is waiting for the score after the judging of the video.

Valerie and Yannick Bisson ready for action
The videos on the Indoor Cloud League leaderboard now include two sequences performed by 4Astrophe and two scores (15 in AAA and 23 in AA) for SkyVenture Montreal bringing the total for May to 38 points.

Katie Woods and her family teams have been covered well enough and are not the major topic of this update. This time, the attention goes all the way to the youngest AAA Class competitor in the history of the sport, Yannick Bisson.

It is actually not fair to disregard his sister, Center Inside Valerie Bisson, who is probably the second youngest 4way competitor in the AAA Class with her 17 years of age. However, 13-year old Yannick Bisson in the Point slot is still four years younger.

Point Yannick Bisson in competition action
The AA Class sequence (D,C,Q,18) could have been drawn for a AAA Class competition, as well. The new and unique situation occured when 4Astrophe's front piece had to deal with the slot switcher 6-point sequence for May.

Valerie Bisson, with piece partner Katie Woods in the rear piece, did not have the memory challenge that little brother Yannick had to deal with in the front piece. However, she was probably taken by surprise when she was facing him all of a sudden in the center, where she usually looks at her father Richard.

It was a very challenging situation for the whole team, and 4Astrophe mastered it with a 15-pointer. It is great fun watching the video and following Yannick Bisson through the maneuvers of Block 14 (Bipole - Bipole) and Block 3 (Side Flaked Opal - Turf).
