Did You Know...

... that the indoor and outdoor combination in Florida shows results?

FSL networking at iFLY Orlando
posted May 22nd, 2012 - Teams from Florida also contributed to last weekend's leaderboard, which is now complete.

A total of 29 teams competed in all four competition classes, with Florida teams in three of them.

A Class teams Z-Hills Commandos and Miami Exuberance both attended their second meet of the 2012 season, as well as DeLand Higgs Boson in the A Class.

Most Zunday members knew each other from previous FSL events in 2011 and have been visiting the FSL Tunnel Kickers at iFLY Orlando on a regular basis. Finally, the team from Skydive City recruited the first lineup for the 2012 season and joined Higgs Boson in the A Class competition.

The SOCOM Commandos also attended their second meet this year, while Miami Oh Si is a new Rookie Class lineup from Skydive Miami in Homestead, with player coach Pam Manos guiding the team into the 4way world. Skydive Miami's new Rookie Class team started with a 4.7 average.

The SOCOM Commandos had a different line-up at this meet, and Z-Hills Commandos also had a substitute player filling in for Emily Zastrow in Round 1.

Keith Walter's team, former Colorado and Carolina Skydiving League Director, beat the team's April meet average despite the 4-pointer in Round 1 and finished in 2nd place on the AA Class leaderboard with nine teams.

Player coach Bob Byrne with DeLand Higgs Boson
Miami Exuberance was in the mix in the middle of the AA Class field, and DeLand Higgs Boson took the 1st place of nine teams on the A Class leaderboard, even with a Zero in Round 2. The 14-pointer in Round 4 was probably a result of the FSL Tunnel Kicker indoor training and compensated for the Zero. Zunday finished in 4th place at the team's first meet in the A Class.

Most of the FSL competitors now go back to indoor training on June 5th, sponsored by iFLY Orlando, before the teams will meet again for the June meet half a week later. It seems like the free tunnel training along with the related networking activities show the first great results for the Florida Skydiving League.
