Did You Know...

... that the UK delegation captured the ESL Spirit in the Netherlands?

posted Sep 7th, 2008 - The currently posted scores of the ESL Championship 2008 are also the last ones of the event. The weather on Texel this year was not much better than the weather in Spa 2007. The 30 teams had to leave after completing only four rounds of the 10-round competition, three rounds in the Rookie Class.

The ESL championships of 2005 and 2006 in Spa, Belgium, had no weather problems at all, and the teams completed all ten rounds within the three event days. Last year's event in Spa had only two completed rounds, three in the AAA Class.

Breakdown of the ESL Spirit scores at the ESL Championship 2008
The European event organizers will probably give the weather situation at this time of the year more thoughts for the ESL Championship 2009. The United Kingdom won the ESL 2008 Spirit and now has the first right of refusal for hosting next year's event.

The UK delegation benefitted mostly from the strong performances of the AA Class and Rookie Class teams, as the breakdown of the ESL Spirit results show. The NSL News will follow up later with more information and the photos of the winners.
