Did You Know...

... that Zero Tolerance Miami has a long team history?

AA Class team FSC Wind Damaged
posted Jun 12th, 2008 - NSL-TV moves on with another round of meet videos. Round 3 of the FSL May meet has now been uploaded. FSC Wind Damaged features the AA Class sequence (Q-P-F-13) with two completely different pages at the top of the competition jump. Confusion whether the first formation of the sequence was correctly presented or not held the team from Lake Wales back for a while.

The whole first page was seriously hurt by the flaw at the very beginning and costly as of working time. However, FSC Wind Damaged left the first page behind and followed up with a perfect second page, which was probably one of the best performances in the team's history.

The first 5-point page took 23.82 seconds, the second page was completed in 8.31 seconds. The second page really shows how far Gilles Dutrisac (Center Outside), Joel Kmetz (Center Inside), Mario Luppa (Tail), Martin McKerrell (Point), with Pascoal Angelo on camera, have come with more training this year. Next goal is to make all skydives look like the second page of Round 3...

Zero Tolerance lineup of 2001
Zero Tolerance Miami features the A Class sequence of the May 17 weekend (Q-P-F). The team from Homestead was actually formed by Guido Marti who is still the Center Inside. Helena Poleo, Guido Marti, Jeff Bacigaludo and Robert Stoky competed under Zero Tolerance Miami for the first time in January 2001 and posted a 4.7 average after six rounds.

Helena Poleo and Guido Marti continued with new members in 2002 and changed the team name to FLair in 2003. Zero Tolerance came back in May 2004. Guido Marti had two new 4-way players from Skydive Miami in his lineup, Lance Smith and Gary Hansen, who would carry the Zero Tolerance flag from here on.

Guido Marti stepped back in 2005, and Lance Smith, Gary Hansen, Ana Sang, Dutch Vandervelt competed for Zero Tolerance Miami in 2005. The same lineup changed the team name to ZT Mal4mations in 2006 and continued throughout the 2007 season. The "ZT" at the beginning of the team name respected the Zero Tolerance history of the team.

Zero Tolerance in May 2008
Zero Tolerance had its re-birth when Guido Marti came back at the beginning of the 2008 season. He had already helped Miami Vice, last year's Rookie class team from Skydive Miami, as a player coach in 2007. Guido Marti and Pam Manos have now recruited two newcomers and former Homestead students, Trevor Cedar (Point) and Alexandra Kolb (Tail), to train and compete with Zero Tolerance this year.

The results of the training and the high motivation of the new players are showing. The featured 16-pointer in Round 3 is the peak of the Zero Tolerance team career so far. The same line-up had posted an 11-pointer at the FSL Shamrock Showdown 2008 as the highest previous score for a round. Zero Tolerance Miami won the A Class competition at Skydive Sebastian with a 9.3 average and ended up three points behind top contender Mile High Mayhem of the Colorado Skydiving League.

Cold Turkey's Round 3 at the FSL 2008 May Meet - see video
Cold Turkey members at a break in Sebastian
Cold Turkey features the Rookie Class sequence (Q-P-F), which was identical with the A Class sequence of Round 3 that weekend. The team from DeLand, with Fraser Feltner (Center Outside), Renee Power (Point), Jim Prochaska (Center Inside), Hal Spence (Tail) and Bill Schmidt on camera, attended its second meet of the 2008 season and ended up on the very top of the leaderboard once again.

Cold Turkey managed to leave behind the strong teams from the United Kingdom and three other US lineups of the 14-team field in the Rookie Class. Cold Turkey's 14-pointer actually beat the scores of several A Class teams, as well. Only the UK team Strangers and Zero Tolerance Miami, both A Class teams, scored higher than Cold Turkey in Round 3.
