Did You Know...

... that the UK delegation is the cheerleader of the World Cup 2011?

Opening ceremony downtown Saarlouis
posted Aug 3rd, 2011 - Round 3 in 8way is not complete yet, but the host managed to get several teams in the air before it was time for the next weather hold. Three teams also completed their third round in the female 4way category. It has continued this way for the whole day so far, as the host is trying to use every opportunity to get some more scores on the board.

In the meantime, the next video clip has been uploaded, and it is a colorful one, literally. The flags of all participating nations and the blue and sunny skies matched well for the celebration of the international skydiving community. The NSL-TV camera captured the opening ceremony, which took place downtown Saarlouis on Tuesday evening. It was perfect timing, as teams and officials were in a great mood after a very successful first meet day.

The weather was still perfect when the participants marched onto the center square of the small town, and the place was well attended by spectators. The stage was set for a great presentation of the sport to the general public.

Cheerleaders: UK delegation
The NSL-TV camera captured the opening ceremony from several different angles, and it began with the most casual one when the delegations came to the center square from a side road. It was a cheerful and happy parade before the nations were lined up in front of the stage where the officials were ready to greet the competitors.

The UK delegation won the award of the CHEERLEADER OF THE MEET. It was not only the British decoration in Tent City that caught the NSL News attention. The UK delegation was also the most colorful, cheerful and eye catching part of the opening ceremony. It is no surprise that members of the UK delegation keep inquiring about the location of the Fun Flag, which is still a mystery so far.

The opening ceremony peaked with a demonstration jump. Two members of the German Special Forces landed right in front of the stage, and the spectators got a visual impression of the event. It was a perfect ending of a perfect day. Back to reality now, the teams are on a weather hold Wednesday afternoon, and it is raining. No worries, there is always some sunshine after the rain, and the forecast is promising for the coming days. Stand by...
