posted Feb 24th, 2011 - Four AA/Intermediate Class teams competed at the Valentine's Meet 2011 and offered actually a more exciting battle than it was in the AAA/Open Class.

The Brazilian all-female lineup Fenix and Cold Fusion had a race for the 1st place throughout the official six rounds of the meet, while Code 99 and Eloy Firestorm finished tied in 3rd place in the same category.

The NSL News begins with a closer look at the two AA Class teams who both ended up with a total of 36 points and a 6.0 average after the 6-round meet. The video of all jumps in this exciting race have been uploaded and can be reviewed.

Both teams are a part of Arizona Frenzy's Project Home Team that the NSL News introduced with the story on 26 January 2011. The NSL News followed up with more details of the newly formed teams on 4 February 2011.

Finally, it was time for the first showdown of the Eloy home teams, and it turned out to be even more exciting than it could have been expected. Code 99 competed with the lineup as it was announced for the preview (Paul Hadzellis - Tail, Michael Hotz - Center Inside, Dave Linkiewicz - Center Inside, Scott Pearsall - Point, Cris Skrabut on camera). Eloy Firestorm showed up with the announced lineup, as well (John Verley, Leigh Estabrook, Pat Marcanio, Celso De Mello, with Terry Schumacher on camera).

The NSL News expected a great meet in the AA Class, as the preview had promised: "The Valentine's Meet 2011 does not only seem to offer a great showdown between France and Airspeed. It also promises a great competition between the local teams in the AA/Intermediate Class." It turned out to be even better than that.

Both teams tied their scores in Round 1. Code 99 then had the upper hand in Rounds 2 and 3 and won each by one point. However, Eloy Firestorm came right back in Round 4, won back those two points and added another one in Round 5 for a 1-point lead.

The sequence of only random formations in Round 6 would bring the decision, and Code 99 posted the first and only 2-digit score between those two teams with a 10-pointer. It was a tie again after Round 6. However, Code 99's 10-pointer was not only the match winner, it was also the tie-breaker and won the bronze medals.
