Did You Know...

... that the Perris Blitz lineup is complete?

Flemming Andersen and Kris Peterson
posted Feb 9th, 2011 - The NSL News reported on 7 December 2010 that Perris Fury had decided to extend the team project. Plan was to put together a second team with the goal of competing at a high level in the AAA/Open Class.

The same story had reported tryouts at Perris Valley Skydiving for the open slots. The first two committed members, Flemming Andersen and Kris Peterson, had already made the move to California to form the team and were looking for two more members and a videographer. The search is over now, Perris Blitz has been formed, and the training has started.

Kevin Dalton and Kjetil Nordin will be completing the 4-way lineup, Meili Modini will be on camera for Blitz.

Kevin Dalton with Cobra Kai
Kevin Dalton started skydiving in 2007. Since then he has made more than 2500 skydives. He moved to Perris in 2009 and trained and competed with the Fury 8-way project team Cobra Kai. The Intermediate Class 8-way team won the gold medals at the USPA Nationals 2009.

He focused on 4-way with Perris Quattro in 2010 and posted the 3rd highest results with a 13.0 average in the AAA/Advanced Class at the USPA Nationals 2010. Kevin Dalton works at the Perris Valley Skydiving School as an AFF instructor, tandem instructor and videographer. He recently married Karen Lewis who is also a full time instructor and videographer at Perris Valley Skydiving School.

Kjetil Nordin is moving from Norway to California to join the team. Flemming Andersen had made a similar move from Denmark when the team was formed. Kjetil Nordin was inspired when he read the article in the NSL News and saw that the member of Denmark's national 4-way team Voluntas had added the Blitz project to his agenda.

Kjetil Nordin with X3m4's
Kjetil Nordin started skydiving in 2003 and has been competing in 4-way and 8-way since 2007. Kjetil has competed on several teams each season in both the Intermediate and Open categories. He was flying the Point slot for four years on X3m4's.

X3m4’s scored a 10.3 average in the Open Class at the Norwegian Nationals 2007. His team then posted 11.9 in 2008 and 14.4 in 2009. Kjetil Nordin was selected for the Norwegian national 4-way team and competed at the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2010 with X3m4's Elements.

The Norwegian federation has recently discontinued any support for the national Formation Skydiving teams, and his former team obviously did not have serious plans for the near future.

Meili Modini with Elsinore BTE
Meili Modini is an accomplished videographer and freeflyer. She was on camera for Perris Fury and Perris Moxie in 2010 and Elsinore BTE in 2009. She also competed with Elsinore Jedi in VFS 4-way and won bronze medals in USPA's Advanced Class in 2007, then silver in 2008. She recently participated in the Women's head down world record in Eloy AZ last October.

Perris Blitz has made 20 training jumps so far and recently flew almost seven hours at the Paraclete XP windtunnel. The team plans to do 500 skydives and 20 hours of tunnel time in 2011.

In addition to the training, the team members are organizing events for Perris Valley Skydiving. A 2-way RW skills camp will be held monthly for skydivers who want to learn or brush up on their RW exit and flying skills. Perris Blitz will also organize a Scandinavian Easter camp in April (15 - 30) where the the team members will be coaching. Guests are welcome, even if they are not from Scandinavia. The Blitz members will also be load organizing in Perris on Fridays. This service is for everybody who wants to start the weekend early. The team has a Facebook page where events and team updates will be announced.
