Did You Know...

... that the Wind Damaged reunion put Perris Jimani to a serious test?

Wind Damaged lineup at SkyQuest 2010: Gilles Dutrisac, Becca Minkin, Joel Kmetz, Martin McKerrell
posted Dec 6th, 2010 - NSL-TV has uploaded the second clip of meet videos covering the AA Class competition at the NSL Championship 2010. The first part of the AA Class coverage on 3 December 2010 included the videos of Rounds 1 - 3. The next three rounds are now available.

The earlier story mentioned that all four teams were in contention for medals. Three of the teams had already claimed a sole highscore for a round at this point in time, and the positions on the leaderboard had changed a few times.

FSC Wind Damaged was in 1st place after six rounds, one point ahead of Perris Jimani. Teiwaz Eagle was in 3rd place, four points ahead of Mile Hi Mayhem. Both would eventually fall behind their direct opponents after the nine rounds of 4-way competition at SkyQuest 2010.

First Wind Damaged lineup in 2005: Joel Kmetz, Chris Williams (Camera), Bruce Robertson, Mike Greene, Martin McKerrell (bottom)
FSC Wind Damaged celebrated the second reunion this year at the NSL Championship 2010. It was not exactly the original lineup of the years 2007 and 2008.

Tail Mario Luppa had moved back home to Italy after completing his services for the Italian military in Tampa, Florida, as the NSL News reported on 19 December 2008 (Archives > 2008 > News > search for: "Wind Damaged").

Gilles Dutrisac (Center Outside), Joel Kmetz (Center Inside) and Martin McKerrell (Point) tried to find a new Tail for the 2009 season for a while and gave up when Martin McKerrell moved to Georgia. Wind Damaged did not have a lineup in 2009, and Gilles Dutrisac found a new challenging project when he was selected to fill the open slot for Sebastian Tempest.

Wind Damaged meet scores since 2005
FSC Wind Damaged was formed two years before the 2008 lineup finished in 6th place of 24 teams at the USPA Nationals 2008. Joel Kmetz and Martin McKerrell put the first lineups together in 2005 and attended seven meets that year. Mario Luppa joined forces with Joel Kmetz and Martin McKerrell in 2006, and Gilles Dutrisac became the Center Outside for Wind Damaged in 2007.

Gilles Dutrisac, Joel Kmetz and Martin McKerrell did not have any serious team projects in 2010. Gilles Dutrisac took a break after the intensive 2009 season with Sebastian Tempest that had lifted him to a 16.6 average level in the AAA Class. Martin McKerrell was too far away in Georgia, and Joel Kmetz was by himself in Florida.

However, they decided to get together at a few occasions this year, and one of those was the final 4-way meet of the 2010 season in Florida at SkyQuest 2010. They had connected with Becca Minkin earlier this year, who has been looking for a 4-way slot for a while. She took the open Tail position and ended up with her own best AA Class results.

Martin McKerrell is now moving back to Florida, and Wind Damaged may have more reunions next year.
