Did You Know...

... that iFLY Orlando still has four days to catch iFLY SF Bay?

iFLY SF Bay's Indoor Cloud League team in December
posted Dec 28th, 2016 - The next Indoor Cloud League scores from California came from iFLY SF Bay, and they were no good news for the iFLY Orlando team.

The Sun Path Products NSL News reported the incredible race for the top of the 12+ leaderboard first time on December 4th, after all scores for November were posted. The December competition is now slowly coming to its end, and scores from both opponents are on the current leaderboard. If nothing changes in the last four days of the Indoor Cloud League 2016 season iFLY SF Bay will have turned the 1-point deficit at the end of November into a 26-point victory for the year.

Maria Garcia-Sheets, new team captain and organizer of the iFLY SF Bay, used all resources and fly-power that Northern California Skydiving League Director Lori Connor has developed and set up since joining the Indoor Cloud League in August 2013 to turn the table at the very end.

iFLY SF Bay's Best of December202325312328150

A Class highscore: Maria Garcia-Sheets with coach Leander van Schriek
She had probably her strongest team ready to post the highest total for a month in iFLY SF Bay's ICL history. The total of 150 ICL points beats the 141 in May this year and matches the highest monthly total that iFLY Orlando posted in June.

Lori Connor and Maria Garcia-Sheets had scheduled once again three NCSL Tunnel Kickers for December, and the first one on December 7th produced the major contribution of ICL points to the December total. She also did her own share with the lineup that posted the 25-pointer highscore for the A Class sequence.

Maria Garcia-Sheets explained how eager her team was to take over the top position: "After November's competition, where SF Bay gained 12 points on the Indoor Cloud League (ICL) leaderboard, only one point separated Orlando and SF Bay tunnels, with Orlando in the lead. SF Bay flyers kept a keen eye on their scores, and a cool head, as they focused their efforts not only on flying well, but also on earning enough points to take the ICL lead for 2016."

iFLY SF Bay's ICL coaches: Leander v. Shriek, Deanna and Julius Frank, Rob Radez
After all three December events at iFLY SF Bay were completed and the scores posted she knew that it would be close and more than competitive: "From the scores posted by our participants, SF Bay tunnel flyers made this month's ICL competition epic. Thanks to the efforts of coaches, iFly SF Bay, and participants throughout the year, SF Bay is poised to make history by earning its first ICL win. Congratulations to the teams who posted outstanding scores for December."

iFLY Orlando's ICL team came together only two times in December, as the NSL Indoor Championship 2016 consumed one of the scheduled FSL Tunnel Kickers. However, December is not over yet, and iFLY Orlando still has four days to improve the posted scores.

Meanwhile, Maria Garcia-Sheets is already looking ahead to the Indoor Cloud League 2017 season: "Finally, 2017 is right around the corner. Begin the year by scheduling one-on-one coaching with Deanna or Julius Frank. Then register for the January 4th Tunnel Kicker to ring in the New Year..."
