posted Oct 19th, 2016 - The Sun Path Products NSL News has been following the internal French battle between the national teams in 4-way Open and 4-way Women ever since the new lineups were put together after the world meet in Prostejov 2014, and it has been a rollercoaster on both sides.

Results of the internal competition and the ongoing friendly pressure were silver medals in 4-way Women and bronze medals in 4-way Open for France at the FAI Mondial 2016, plus gold medals in 4-way Women and more bronze medals in 4-way Open at the FAI Indoor World Cup 2016.

In addition, Weembi won silver medals in 4-way Open for France at Flyspot, and three French 4-way teams were lined up behind NMP PCH HayaBusa on the combined AAA Class leaderboard.

Weembi's 4-way Open Class lineup is not the French national team, despite the better results at the FAI Indoor World Cup. However, the lineup with four former 4-way world champions from France (Julien Degen, Mathieu and Guillaume Bernier) and Belgium (Roy Janssen) might be able to compete for France at the next indoor world meet if they qualify within the French system.

The French 4-way Open Class team at the Mondial 2016 has already been selected as the national team until the next world meet in 2018.

The French Formation Skydiving delegation at the FAI Indoor World Cup in Poland was the most successful one of all nations, as the 4-way juniors of the Aerokart Ak'demie added a silver medal in their category. It was a better result compared to the FAI Mondial 2016 where the French Girls could not defend the gold medals successfully.

The French Girls had a much more successful re-match with the Open Class team at Flyspot after finishing far behind at Skydive Chicago. With the Golden Knights not returning after winning the FAI gold medals in 4-way Women, the French Girls have to orient themselves once again by using the scores on the 4-way Open Class leaderboard.

The competition in 4-way Women was no challenge at all for France, as the gap to the 2nd place was almost 40 points, even though UK's indoor team Volition won the first round.

The race between the two French national teams is back on even level, literally (279 - 279). The French Girls won the first half of the meet by six points for Weembi, and the Open Class team won the second half by six points for a tie after Round 10.
