... that the Evolution 4-way gamble worked out for the first Canadian silver medals?

Successful 4-way gamble: Evolution
posted Sep 15th, 2016 - The 4-way VFS competition was also completed on Wednesday, and France ended up in 3rd place, after three consecutive gold medals in 2010, 2012 and 2014.

The Canadian Evolution gamble worked out well for the three Lemay brothers (Martin, Vincent, Benoit) and Jean-Christophe Ouimet, with Jeevee Vadeboncoeur on camera. Evolution won the first set of silver medals for Canada, after two bronze medals in 2014.

Evolution gave the VFS competition first priority and sacrificed the bronze medal position of 2014 in 4-way Open, with the identical lineup in both events at the Mondial 2016. Transfert, the French national team had an impressive start into the meet and then could not keep up with dominating winner SDC Core. French national coach Philippe Schorno explained the VFS situation from the French perspective.

Evolution and Transfert had a great battle for the silver medals. However, it was the 4th place that was most contested.

Russia, Belgium, Australia and Norway were separated by only three points, and each of the four teams had the lead at least once over the eight rounds in this 4-team group.

Vertical Flystation from Russia saved their charge for the 4th place position for the right time and the last two rounds of the meet. The Russian team posted the highest scores of the same four teams at the end of the meet and left Element (Belgium) and Focus (Australia), both tied in 5th place, two points behind. The first medal position was still 40 points away...
