NSL News Coverage of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024

Did You Know...

... that seven national teams are on last weekend's combined leaderboard?

AAA Class winner: Final Fire from Austria
posted Aug 21st, 2016 - Last weekend's combined leaderboard is a very interesting one, as it brings together teams from four different countries: Austria - Czech Republic - Netherlands - U.S.A.

The three European countries held their national championships and agreed to use the NSL competition draw, which was also applied at four different locations in the U.S.A. (Carolina - Florida - Northwest - Southern). The scores from Europe have been posted and feature teams in all four categories.

It becomes even more interesting with a closer look at the AAA Class leaderboard. There are seven national teams in the Top 10 spots, and five of them will soon travel to Skydive Chicago and compete again as their countries' national 4-way teams at the Mondial 2016.

Dutch national team Cool Runnings in Prostejov 2014
Only Bad Boys and Cool Runnings will not compete in Ottawa. Bad Boys are the Czech national team and 4-way champion in 4-way Open but will not make the trip to the U.S.A. Cool Runnings was the Dutch national 4-way team in Prostejov 2014 and has been dethroned by M4trix in 2015 and 2016.

The three teams in the top spots of the combined leaderboard will meet each other again in Ottawa with a different competition draw.

Final Fire, Austria's national team, confirmed the great form that the team has shown in the past years without a lot of training. The consistency of the lineup keeps the team not only on the top level in Austria. Final Fire had also finished in 6th place at the FAI World Cup 2015. The new 18.0 average moves the Austrian team up into the same area on the expected world meet leaderboard.

Strong statement: No Mercy from Poland
The Bad Boys would probably have a great live competition with the Dutch 4-way champion M4trix. Both teams were separated by one single point last weekend.

Two teams competed last weekend who will be on a different leaderboard at the Mondial 2016. No Mercy from Poland and CZ Ladies compete in 4-way Women. The Polish team made it very clear that they are not planning to finish at the bottom of the leaderboard at the first attendance of an all-female team from Poland at a World Championship of Formation Skydiving.

This year's results indicate that Czech Ladies and Valkyria will try to keep up with No Mercy, while there is a question mark behind the German team Skymix, who have not attended any meets together. No Mercy on the other hand will probably look at Bellatrix from Australia for an exciting competition.
