NSL News Coverage of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024

Did You Know...

... that SDC Rhythm XP had a very promising start into the new team cycle?

Successful Perris Fury reunion in Raeford
posted Mar 12th, 2016 - The Sun Path Products NSL News goes back to the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2016 after the excursion to France.

The indoor competition in Raeford was a showcase for the Golden Knights, who won the 8-way competition, took the first two places in 4-way Open and the 2nd place in 4-way VFS. However, there were many other interesting battles and stories, and the Sun Path Products NSL News continues with a topic that could actually be the most interesting one of the event.

SDC Rhythm XP and Perris Fury ended up behind the two Golden Knights teams (Gold - GKF4) and were in a similar situation. The 4-way Women team of the Golden Knights, with Jennifer Davidson in the lineup, were aiming at outscoring the Gold team with her husband, 8-way world champion Matt Davidson. Perris Fury was eager to finish ahead of SDC Rhythm XP's new team, who had Christy Frikken and Chris Farina in their own lineups of the past years. At the same time, Perris Fury and SDC Rhythm XP have been the most serious challengers of Arizona Airspeed since 2008.

Perris Fury's 26.8 average placed the team right away in 5th place of the SKYLEAGUE.COM Indoor World Rankings 2016 at the reunion party in Raeford. However, the new Rhythm lineup had a very strong start into the next team cycle and finished ahead of their former team mates.

Chris Farina trained and competed with SDC Rhythm XP in 2012 before accepting an Airspeed invitation. Christy Frikken was a Rhythm member in 2013 - 2015.

Rhythm had a complete makeover after Christy Frikken left the team at the end of the 2015 season and Mikhail Markine joined Arizona Airspeed at the same time. JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz invited Carolina Turbo XP members Andrew Happick (Point) and Doug Barron (Inside Center) and began early with the 2016 training.

Successful start into the next team cycle: SDC Rhythm XP
The Paraclete XP Indoor Championship was the first meet test for Rhythm's new lineup, and it was very promising. Steve Lefkowitz said after the ten rounds in Raeford that he was extremely happy with the results.

He and his wife JaNette have a good reason to look forward to a promising Rhythm future. The new lineup takes off at almost exactly the same level where the previous one ended up. The 26.8 average in Raeford is the second highest result in team history. Only the 2015 lineup finished slightly higher (27.3) at the World Challenge 2015.

The Golden Knights F4 team finished ahead of Rhythm for the first time, while the distance was closer than expected. Rhythm's starting point is even more impressive considering the slot scramble.
Only Andrew Happick continues in his Point slot. JaNette Lefkowitz switched from the front piece (Outside Center) to the rear piece (Inside Center), where Doug Barron moved to Tail. Steve Lefkowitz is the new Outside Center. The performance after the slot scramble puts the 26.8 average in a different light. The new Rhythm lineup will meet Arizona Airspeed next week at the Shamrock Showdown 2016 and will show the first meet exits with the new slots from a Twin Otter...
