Did You Know...

... that the World Challenge 2016 includes UK's official qualification for the next indoor world meet?

2nd place at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship: Golden Knights F4
posted Mar 9th, 2016 - The aftermath of the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2016 comes along with previews of the Shamrock Showdown 2016 and the World Challenge 2016.

The number of teams for the World Challenge keeps growing as usual, and the pre-leaderboard has a significant size by now. The Qatar Tigers have officially signed up for the event and change the SKYLEAGUE.COM power rankings on the top part of the AAA Class leaderboard. The Sun Path Products NSL News will update the power rankings in all categories very soon.

The 4-way Women competition will feature a very strong field this year. The Golden Knights are on the Bedford list of teams after placing 2nd last weekend in Raeford, even though they will miss the Shamrock Showdown due to a doctor's appointment for Dannielle Albright-Woosley, who has been dealing with health issues in the shoulder/neck area.

UK's national outdoor team 2016: NFTO
In fact, this year's field in 4-way Women is probably the strongest one in the history of this category. It is not only the highly anticipated next battle between the French FLY-IN Girls and Golden Knights that makes this year's field so strong. The World Challenge 2016 also brings back together once again two strong British teams in Bedford.

France (2010, 2012, 2014), Great Britain (2003, 2006, 2008) and U.S.A. (2001, 2004) have dominated the competition in 4-way Women since the event was officially included in World Championships of Formation Skydiving in 2001, and all three nations have their best teams in Bedford next month.

French FLY-IN Girls and Golden Knights have their own business with each other, while there will be once again even two British teams fighting it out for the domestic top spot.

UK's national indoor team in 2015: Fly Like A Girl
The outcome of the duel between NFTO and Volition is even more relevant this year, as the British Parachute Association (BPA) has sanctioned the World Challenge as the qualification event for the FAI/IPC indoor events.

The United Kingdom had a split representation at the previous indoor and outdoor world

championships. Kazen competed as the national team at the World Meet 2014 in Prostejov, while Fly Like A Girl won bronze medals for the United Kingdom at the 1st FAI World Indoor Skydiving Championships last year.

The situation is similar and again very competitive this year. NFTO was the strongest 4-way Women team at the UK Nationals 2015 and will be the national team at the Mondial 2016. Fly Like A Girl has turned into Volition with a new lineup and will challenge NFTO for the national indoor title in Bedford next month. The United Kingdom might have once again two different national teams for the indoor and outdoor world meets...
