posted Nov 8th, 2015 - The 10-round tie-breaker between the two AAA Class teams from Texas is over, and Dallas 350 is the strongest 4-way team from the Lone Star State this year.

The Sun Path Products NSL News covered the history of both former USPA Advanced Class winners with earlier stories this year, and the first 2015 battle was covered on March 23rd after the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2015. The most recent story explained how the USPA Nationals 2015 would be the final showdown in this internal Texas duel.

It turned out be a clear and clean affair, as Dallas 350 never gave up a point in any of the ten rounds, neither to Spaceland Lite nor to the judges. Spaceland Lite tied four of Dallas 350's scores in the 10-round meet, and 350 walked away from this duel with a final 14-point advantage.

The new lineup with Jim Rees showed its teeth at the right time and did not only win the Texas showdown with Spaceland Lite. 350 left their own scoring history in the dust and moved up to the 16-average level after chasing and passing the 15-average mark earlier this year.

The team name originates from a 10-round meet idea. Ten rounds of 35 seconds working time in 4-way competition add up to 350 seconds of quality time, which Dallas 350 used very efficiently in Eloy. 350 was one of the very few teams who had a flawless score sheet, with FAI judge Jim Rees in the outside center slot.

The 350 seconds on the 16-average level moved the 2015 lineup also closer to former team member and player coach Ron Hill, who competed at the same meet with a lineup of highly experienced 4-way competitors, Prestige Worldwide, with Sally Hathaway, Ron Hill, Ben Liston and Brian Stephens in the lineup. Ron Hill had set the Dallas 350 goal at the 15-average level, as he explained in the same earlier story.

Dallas 350 ended up only five points behind their former team member's Prestige Worldwide lineup, including 2001 world champion in 4-way Women, Sally Hathaway, together with two Mass Defiance members, Ben Liston and Brian Stephens. In fact, Dallas 350 was eventually closer to Prestige Worldwide than to Spaceland Lite.

Dallas 350 and Verve XP both would have won the Advanced Class competition, which is USPA's category for the recreational 4-way teams using the AAA Class dive pool. Dallas 350 won the Advanced Class gold medals last year, while Verve XP started the team career in the Open Class.

2015 gold medalist Air Force Smolder would have challenged both teams in the same category, and Spaceland Lite would have ended up in 4th place, despite a new team record average. It's now time to make plans for the 2016 season and set new goals...
