Did You Know...

... that former videographers and freeflyers are now making a competition career with XP8?

Paraclete XP8 lineup
posted Apr 30th, 2014 - The Sun Path Products NSL News paid special attention to the impressive 8way performance of the international Volevobusa lineup at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2014 with the story on 8 April 2014.

An earlier 8way summary on 6 March 2014 explained how impressive the scores of all 8way top teams were, especially the two US teams on the very top of the leaderboard, Golden Knights and Paraclete XP8.

The 30.7 average by the Golden Knights was the highest one in the history of the sport, and Paraclete XP8 was only 11 points behind. The same story provided a few details of the XP8 lineup and mentioned briefly that some of the XP8 team members came to 8way world class competition in rather unusual ways.

Filming for Arizona Airspeed: Will Pesek
Dalton Samuelsen was a world class freeflyer before he decided to flip over and explore the belly flying competition world with XP8.

Will Pesek was the team videographer for Arizona Airspeed in 2007 before he switched to VFS 4way and joined Arizona Arsenal and then SDC Standard XP, the US national teams at the world meets in 2010 and 2012.

He won silver medals with Arsenal in Menzelinsk 2010 and bronze with Standard in Dubai 2012.

His first moves as a belly flying competitor came in 4way with Paraclete XP4. Now he joined the XP8 lineup, which seems to be a soon-to-come challenger of the Golden Knights.

Filming for XP4: Matt McLean
The Golden Knights have their own unusual example for a team career. Larry Miller was the team videographer for the US Army's 4way team in 2004 - 2008. Brian "BK" Krause was his 4way team mate. When the new 8way team captain decided to focus on 8way, Larry Miller switched to an active slot in front of the camera in the new 8way lineup - and won a gold medal in Dubai 2012.

Matt McLean went the same way with Paraclete XP. He used to film both Paraclete XP lineups in 4way and 8way in the past years and is now in the middle of the action - just as Larry Miller did with the Golden Knights. He will probably challenge his former fellow videographer for the US top position at the USPA Nationals later this year.

Of course, Paraclete XP8 also has a few 8way world champions in the lineup (Kirk Verner, Brian Krause), who provide the experiences and expertise that a team with so much talent needs to get to the top. It's a very colorful lineup that John D'Annunzio and Kirk Verner have put together, and it is a very promising one...
