Did You Know...

... that Savolo is Voodoo's 4way successor for South Africa?

Voodoo successor: Savolo from South Africa
posted Apr 28th, 2014 - The Sun Path Products NSL News reported on 17 March 2014 that South Africa has to look for a new national 4way team, as Voodoo will not represent the country any longer after 15 years on the international 4way stage.

The selection is now in full swing in South Africa where five teams compete for the national 4way title and the trip to the world meet in the Czech Republic in August. There is not much opposition for Savolo (Bailey Edmunds, Jnr, Alex Jordaan, Amy Kirtland, Andre van Heerden) who are far ahead of the other four teams after for completed rounds.

Savolo has also been on the national and international stage for a few years with different lineups. The team name appeared on the NSL leaderboard for the first time after the South African Nationals 2012, right behind Voodoo (16.4 - 14.7) in 2nd place. Savolo also competed later in 2012 at the iFLY Singapore indoor competition.

South Africa at the Dubai Cup 2010
This year's lineup is a very interesting combination of South African 4way competitors. Alex Jordaan and Andre van Heerden both live in the USA. Andre van Heerden is also a member of Verve XP and competed with the US team at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2014 and at the World Challenge 2014.

Alex Jordaan had his 4way beginnings in Georgia where he competed with GT Inviscid in 2004. He was with an indoor pickup team (Area 51) at the World Challenge 2009 and then competed with South Africa's team at the Dubai Cup 2010.

InTime owners Claire King and Dirk Venter were Alex Jordaan's team mates in Dubai. Dirk Venter and Alex Jordaan came back for the Dubai Cup 2011 competing once again for South Africa, this time with Anna-Marie Johnson and Bailey Edmunds Jnr.

Alex Jordaan and Bailey Edmunds, son of another former South African national 4way and 8way competitor, are still competing together for Savolo, and former Voodoo member Amy Kirtland completes the current lineup. Savolo will become the South African national 4way team for the first time.

Alex Jordaan's team mates of Dubai 2010, Claire King and Dirk Venter, are once again competing together at this year's national championships. They run the InTime scoring system and had provided their services at both events where Andre van Heerden competed with his Verve XP indoor team, Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2014 and World Challenge 2014.

This week, they are competing for Jazz Republic and are currently in 2nd place after four completed rounds, while they work together to provide the meet scores.
