Did You Know...

... that the 8way competition at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship broke all records?

World champions with a 30.7 record average: Golden Knights
posted Mar 6th, 2014 - There is one more day left for aftermath of the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2014 before the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2014 will receive full attention.

The 4way competition on the top of the leaderboard in DeLand will be identical with the one in Raeford. This will be different in 8way where only the Golden Knights and the French national team Venturi have ten rounds on their outdoor agenda.

The competition sequences will be drawn this evening during the official reception at the Clarion Hotel DeLand.

The Golden Knights won the indoor competition in Raeford with a 30.7 average. It was the first time that an 8way team scored above the 30-average level.

The US Army team had won the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2012 with a 28.9 average and with 28.1 in 2011, which were the highest results before last weekend.

Challenger: Paraclete XP8 with a 29.6 average
The second highest indoor average in 8way was 23.9 posted by the Paraclete XP8 lineup of 2011. The new French 8way team finished significantly higher with a 25.4 average.

This number will still only go into the record books as the third highest average at the moment since the new Paraclete XP8 lineup posted an incredible 29.6 average last weekend.

Brian "BK" Krause, team captain of the Golden Knights gold medal lineup at the Mondial Dubai 2012, Kirk Verner and John D'Annunzio have launched a new 8way project that could create serious competition for the Golden Knights.

In fact, XP8 were already serious competition, as the new team was very surprisingly one point ahead of the 8way world champions after Round 3.

The US Army team had to pick up the pace under pressure and did so successfully. Two Carolina Turbo XP members, Andrew Heppick and Doug Barron, spend extra time for 8way, which has taken place only in Paraclete XP's 16-foot flying chamber so far.

World class freeflyers Dalton Samuelsen and Will Pesek have also joined the XP8 project. Will Pesek, former Arizona Airspeed videographer, was in the last XP4 lineup and has now switched to 8way competition. Matt McLean is the 8th member. He used to film both Paraclete XP lineups in 4way and 8way in the past years and is now in the middle of the action - just as Larry Miller did with the Golden Knights.

The last clip of 8way competition videos features a very colorful lineup that entered the meet when the 4way competition was completed. Eight members of the TOP 3 teams in 4way formed Voltevobusa for some 8way fun and did the last four rounds on Sunday.

The complete French Volt'R lineup (Damien Gouriou, Pierre Emmanuel Balages, Mathieu Bernier, Julien Degen) joined forces with three NMP-PCH Hayabusa members (Dennis Praet, Andy Grauwels, Dave Grauwels), and Evolution member Katie Woods completed the lineup. Result was a very fast pace and 25.8 average for the four rounds.
