... that Thunder needs AAA Class competition in Roosendaal?

Flying chamber at Indoor Skydive Roosendaal
posted Sep 21st, 2013 - Two days are left for teams to sign up for this year's ISR Grand Prix at Indoor Skydive Roosendaal for the reduced registration fee of 300 Euro, and 36 teams have taken advantage of this offer so far.

22 teams were registered a month ago when the Sun Path Products NSL News posted the first preview of the annual event, which is scheduled for November 23rd. A total of 48 teams competed at last year's ISR Grand Prix, and the number of slots is now limited to 60 team.

It's the second year that the indoor competition will be held in all four NSL competition classes. It's an 8-round competition, and the AAA Class dive pool excludes eight of the 22 blocks (1-4-8-13-19-20) due to the size of the flying chamber. Ten of the 16 AA Class blocks (2-6-7-9-11-14-15-18-21-22) will be drawn, and the A Class teams will have five of the eight blocks (2-6-7-9-21) in their eight sequences.

The working time in Roosendaal begins with the same procedure as at the World Challenge at Bodyflight Bedford. The 35 seconds run for the AAA and AA Class teams when they enter the flying chamber. The A and Rookie Class teams build a Star, and working time begins with the break of the first grip.

Thunder is coming back as the defending champion in the AAA Class. New 4way champion of the Netherlands, NRG, has signed up for the first time and is joined by Cool Runnings who competed in the AA Class at last year's event. The ISR GRand Prix 2013 will be NRG's first indoor competition.

Blue Rebels from Greece won the A Class competition last year and will not try to defend the title. They have moved up into the AA Class where they will be facing last year's silver medalist Potes en Ciel from Belgium. The winner of the AA Class at the ESL Championship 2013, all-female team Les Stunts, is competing in the AAA Class in Roosendaal.

2012 A Class winner: Blue Rebels
The A Class was the most popular category at the ISR Grand Prix 2012 and also at the ESL Championship 2013. 16 teams have signed up so far, which is once again the highest number of teams in Roosendaal at this point in time.

Blue Rebels and Mach 4 have moved up, and the A Class competition seems to be wide open this year. Last year's Rookie Class winner Olraait tested the AA Class dive pool at the ESL Championship and has signed up for the A Class competition in Roosendaal. Several other teams have competed earlier this year at outdoor meets in the A Class.

Even several of the registered Rookie Class team are not new on the leaderboards and have posted their first scores either at national championships or at the ESL Championship. It seems to become another great competition in all categories - if any additional AAA Class teams sign up to challenge Thunder. There are rumors that the new German 4way champions may take on the unofficial amateur world champion...
