Did You Know...

... that Canada will have an exciting battle in 4way Women at the national championships?

Fuzion at last weekend's competition at Nouvel Air
posted Jun 27th, 2013 - Nouvel Air, home turf for Canada's national 4way team Evolution, hosted this year's second meet in Canada last weekend. The Canadian 2013 season had begun with the Canadian Indoor Championship 2013 in March and continued with the first outdoor meet this month at Parachute Montreal.

Three of the nine teams at Nouvel Air last weekend (Fuzion, Runway 4, Backcap) had attended both previous events.

Fuzion and Runway 4 repeated their first outdoor duel in the AAA Class and both increased their scoring averages by over a point after ten completed rounds this time. Four additional AAA Class teams made this category the busiest one last weekend, and Fuzion won the second time when Evolution was unable to complete the ten rounds.

Early end for Martin Lemay
It was also Evolution's second outdoor meet this year with the new lineup after launching the 2013 season at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2013.

Canada's national 4way team and world top contender completed four rounds on Monday and had to withdraw after a shoulder injury of Center Inside Martin Lemay in Round 5. The video shows how the competition ended for Evolution after seven points.

The weather on the weekend did not allow much jumping at Nouvel Air near Montreal. Some of the teams completed up to two rounds on Sunday.

However, the meet schedule included Monday, and most of the teams tried to complete their competition jumps in preparation for the national championships at the same place later in July.

In fact, most of the teams who competed last weekend will also come back for the Canadian Nationals 2013, as Evolution member Martin Lemay explained.

Crimson Fox training camp in Arizona
He also said that Fuzion and Torque are two of the female lineups who will challenge Canada's national team of 2012, Crimson Fox, at the upcoming national championships. Those three teams seem to be the top contenders for the nomination as Canada's new national team. Martin Lemay expects the most intense battle for this national title that Canada has seen yet.

Two of the same three teams and one Crimson Fox member (Renee Point with Michel And The Girls) met at the indoor competition in March, and Evolution father Michel Lemay with his three girls outlasted the Fuzion challenger only in a fly-off extra round.

Crimson Fox has not attended an outdoor competition this year so far. However, the Canadian national team will be well prepared after two training camps with coach Thomas Hughes in Arizona. There is also another outdoor competition coming up closer to the Crimson Fox home in Ontario. The Parachute School of Toronto is hosting its first 4way competition on July 6th before the national championships begin on July 15th at Nouvel Air.
