Did You Know...

... that the Dubai Asaar teams have different names and lineups this year?

No meet action at the moment: Dubai Asaar 8way team
posted Mar 7th, 2013 - Not only several of the top teams have gone through personnel changes at the end of the 2012 and the beginning of the 2013 season. The NSL News tries to be as up-to-date as possible with the current lineups, especially when the first events are coming closer.

Eliana Rodriguez and Craig Girard recently updated the NSL News with the 2013 lineups of the Dubai teams. As last year, they will once again first compete at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2013 and then travel to Bedford for the World Challenge 2013.

Neither of those two events includes an 8way competition, and Dubai's Asaar 8way team has to wait for the first meet action. However, both Open Class 4way teams will be competing in DeLand and in Bedford.

Dubai Asaar Red had represented the United Arab Emirates at the Mondial Dubai 2012 with Obaid Al Falasi, Abdulaziz Al Shaibani, Abdulla Al Shammar, Khalid Al Neyadi and alternate Khalid Marzooqui in the lineup. Iurii Railean was filming the team.

All five Asaar Red members were also in the 8way lineup where they joined forces with the Dubai Asaar Gold members last year (Abdulla Binshaher, Abdulrahman Al Maamari, Ali Al Neyadi and alternate Abdulaziz Al Naserie). Juan "Melon" Meyer was filming the 8way team.

Dubai Asaar Red had launched the 2012 outdoor season with a 12.4 average at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2012 and finished with a 15.8 average in 16th place of 38 teams at the Mondial Dubai 2012. Dubai's 8way team had started with a 7.3 average in March in DeLand and made it to the finals and Round 10 (6th of 16 - 11.1) at the World Meet.

Winner at the World Challenge 2012: Dubai Asaar Gold
The Dubai 4way lineups have new names, and the members have changed, as well. The new national team is Asaar Black, with a combination of last year's Red and Gold members. Obaid Al Falasi and Abdulaziz Al Shaibani of the Red lineup have joined forces with last year's Gold member Ali Al Neyadi. Red alternate Khalid Marzooqui is the 4th Black member, and Juan "Melon" Meyer is filming this team. Craig Girard is the Black coach and will also fill slots as the alternate whenever necessary.

He will be in the active lineup at the first two meets this year, as he did last year. Asaar Black's Center Inside Obaid Al Falasi is not available in DeLand and Bedford.

Dubai Asaar Yellow has Abdulla Binshahar and Abdulrahman Al Maamari of last year's Gold team in the new Asaar Yellow lineup. Abdulla Al Dosari and Abdulla Al Shammar are new project members, and Iurii Railean is on camera. Eliana Rodriguez is coach and alternate for Dubai Asaar Yellow. Her lineup is complete at the two upcoming events.

Only Dubai Asaar Red at the Mondial 2012
Both Dubai Asaar lineups were extremely close to each other at the beginning of the 2012 season in DeLand. The Gold lineup then even outscored Asaar Red at the World Challenge 2012 before Red took the upper hand again at the USPA Nationals 2012. Only Asaar Red could then compete at the Mondial 2012.

The 2013 season will most likely show a different picture of the two Dubai teams. The new lineups will be separated more clearly than before, as the Asaar Black members now have a lot of 4way experience, significantly more than the Yellow lineup. Asaar Black will also launch the 2013 season on a much higher performance and scoring level compared to last year. The same counts most likely for Asaar Yellow.

The 2013 starting point will be defined next weekend...
