Did you know that $1,000 are still on stake for Rounds 9 and 10 in DeLand?
posted: Mar 19th, 2016 The teams at the Shamrock Showdown 2016 added two more completed rounds to the leaderboard, and Round 9 is almost complete, as well. Sunday morning will bring the end of this year's event. The scores of the two rounds on Saturday were higher than on Friday. The meet averages are on the way up, even though Rounds 7 and 8 were both slot switching sequences. Today's NSL-TV video clips feature the battle for the 2nd place between Aerodyne French Girls and Qatar Tigers. The French national team in 4-way Women was looking forward to the AAA Class competition with some of the world's best AAA/Open... (more)

Did you know that the Shamrock sequences for the first six rounds included three random formations?
posted: Mar 18th, 2016 The weather situation was not very promising for the Shamrock Showdown 2016, however, all teams completed six of the scheduled ten rounds on Friay. The new NSL Talk with the event judges (Chris Talbert, Jim Rees, Dirk Venter) revealed that the competition draw was very challenging. Traditionally, the Shamrock teams pull the numbers and letters for the competition sequences out of the hat (trophy) by themselves, and they were responsible for the fact that all six memory blocks (3,5,10,12,16,17) were drawn for six different sequences. On top of that, the first six rounds were slower and technically... (more)

Did you know that USPA's Advanced Class competition lacks a defending champion?
posted: Mar 17th, 2016 OK, I have looked at this for a very longtime, and I have kept my mouth shut while suffering with the poor teams who win the advanced class competition at USPA Nationals. It is about time to take on the topic, as I am usually not shy about speaking my mind. No worries, it's not a biggie and I don't think that I will step on anybody's toes. In fact, I am hoping that my thoughts will be considered productive. First of all, I fully support USPA's advanced class and the extremely difficult effort to separate the pros from the amateurs in the sport. I have to admit that I have given up on that, as... (more)

posted: Mar 16th, 2016 The March leaderboard of the Indoor Cloud League continues to grow while the teams in DeLand are using the last days for training before the Shamrock Showdown launches the 2016 outdoor competition season on Friday morning. Satori XL and Qatar Tigers have joined the French FLY-IN Girls on Wednesday with 4-way training, and the VFS team of the Golden Knights is also in full training action. The latest Indoor Cloud League scores are coming from iFLY Houston, where Spaceland Lite member Katrina Shows organized her indoor team's first March event and provided the first scores and videos from Texas... Did you know that the French national teams in 4-way Women had great success after earlier Shamrock Showdowns?
posted: Mar 15th, 2016 The preparations for the Shamrock Showdown 2016 are in full swing at Skydive DeLand. The French FLY-IN Girls are one of the teams who arrived early for a short training camp before the meet. The reigning French world champions in 4-way Women are also staying another week after the competition for additional training. The French FLY-IN Girls scheduled the Shamrock Showdown 2016 in the team calendar to meet the Golden Knights for the second time at an outdoor competition with their new lineup. Pamela Lissajoux became the new member after the FAI World Cup 2015 and competed with the team for the... (more)

Did you know that a 2nd Generation of 4-way competitors comes from the Blue Sky Ranch?
posted: Mar 14th, 2016 The Gold lineup of the Golden Knights dominated the 4-way AAA/Open Class competition at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2016 with eight highscores in ten rounds. However, the winner of the AA/Intermediate Class did not even allow another team to tie the score for any of the ten rounds, and 2nd Generation finished 35 points ahead of the team in 2nd place. The Sun Path Products NSL News was surely interested in finding out who is behind the team name and the 20.5 average, and the team accepted the NSL Talk invitation at Paraclete XP. The live interview took place right before the award ceremony... (more)
