Did you know that Dennis Praet, David and Andy Grauwels had 8-way experience before the Thund8rbirds?
posted: Jan 14th, 2016 The Sun Path Products NSL News covered the 8-way project of NMP PCH Hayabusa and Thunder ISR a few times before the Thund8rbirds eventually competed for the first time at the Belgian Nationals 2015. Both 4-way teams had also planned to attend the FAI World Cup 2015 and then compete together in 8-way in Teuge. Thunder's eligibility to compete for the Belgian delegation or as a guest team was challenged before the competition began, and the team eventually withdrew from both events, 4-way and 8-way. It was a disappointing experience, especially for Thunder ISR, however, the Thund8rbirds pulled... (more)

Did you know that the Team World Rankings are a fun new project?
posted: Jan 13th, 2016 Yippee! I found another playground! It is so much fun to be so deeply involved in this sport. OK, I will never make a lot of money, but I have to admit that I love my job, and that alone has a lot of value. Anyhow, one of the cool things about my job is that I am not restricted or limited by rules and regulations, procedures and sanctions. I love that part. Remember two months ago, when I was exposing some of the judges? I had nothing to lose, so I could stick my neck out as far as I wanted. OK, I was a little bit nervous, but thanks to the wonderful audience I was so strongly encouraged and... (more)

Did you know that SDC Core is currently far ahead of the world's VFS competition?
posted: Jan 12th, 2016 The visit of the Sun Path Products NSL News with SDC Rhythm XP and the live NSL Talk with the team at Skydive Sebastian last week took place before the new situation with Arizona Airspeed's personnel change came to the surface. The topic was not on the agenda at that time, only indirectly when the discussion turned to the time after the USPA Nationals 2016. Another surprise topic came out of the visit to Sebastian when the reigning USPA champion in 4-way VFS, SDC Core, happened to be in the boarding area on Rhythm's training day, as well. Both teams had synchronized their schedules for... (more)

Did you know that David and Andy Grauwels will miss Airspeed's opposition at the Wind Games?
posted: Jan 11th, 2016 It did not take too long until the news of a change in the Arizona Airspeed lineup made it to Europe. Airspeed's cancelation of the upcoming Wind Games indoor competition in Empuriabrava, Spain, made it clear enough that the team would not be ready for the next confrontation with NMP PCH Hayabusa. The Sun Path Products NSL News contacted Hayabusa members David and Andy Grauwels, who are the two original members of the reigning 4-way world champions, to ask them for their reactions and thoughts after learning that Airspeed would not compete at the Wind Games. The Wind Games will still feature... (more)

posted: Jan 10th, 2016 The Sun Path Products NSL News has evaluated and discussed the potential of a US Formation Skydiving Sweep at the Mondial 2016 a few times recently. Solly Williams, Gary Smith and Chris Talbert discussed the topic in the COACHES CORNER after the USPA Nationals 2015. Blue Skies Mag published the "TURNING POINTS" column with the same topic for the October issue. It came back up at the next COACHES CORNER on January 5th. The Blue Skies Mag column mentioned that there might be a lot of pressure on Arizona Airspeed, and the most recent change in the lineup is somehow connected to the rising pressure... (more)

Did you know that Arizona Airspeed canceled the trip to the Wind Games?
posted: Jan 9th, 2016 The recent updates after the two events in Dubai, Clash of Champions 2015 and World Air Games 2015, mentioned that the ongoing battle between NMP PCH Hayabusa and Arizona Airspeed would soon continue at the upcoming Wind Games in Empuriabrava, Spain. The Wind Games 2015 were in fact the first event where both teams competed directly against each other with their new lineups. NMP PCH Hayabusa had replaced Roy Janssen with Jeroen "Bob" Nollet after winning the gold medals at the FAI World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2014. Mark Kirkby left Airspeed after the same event, and Thiago Gomes... (more)
