Did You Know...

... that Tuesday's 8-way jumps seem to have special importance?

Philippe Schorno - Emanuel Sarrazin - Jérôme David
posted Aug 3rd, 2010 - Next thing on Tuesday morning was a conversation with French national coach Jérôme David who is in charge of Formation Skydiving competition in France. He has been a member of the French delegation for 21 years now, first as a competitor, then as a coach and national manager of the FS events.

He can look back at a very successful career, and the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2010 may turn out as the peak in the coaching part. At the moment, France is in first place in all three FS events, and his former team mate Philippe Schorno is guiding the French VRW team towards gold medals, as well.

Jérôme David reported changes in France, as he is in the middle of re-defining his own position and proposing improvements to the whole system. It will not be easy to improve a system that produces gold medals and world champions consistently.

The NSL Talk session took place while the 8-way teams were getting ready for their 5th round. Aerodyne Cypres Maubeuge and Russia's 8-way team Barkli had departed, and the Golden Knights were in the boarding area when the NSL Talk was over.

As of the actual competition in Menzelinsk, Jérôme David said that today's 8-way jumps will probably tell a lot about the final outcome of the meet. Training judge and former Golden Knights world champion Eric Heinsheimer had expressed the same thoughts earlier this morning, as well as Franch 8-way competitor Martial Ferré.

The 8-way teams are back on the ground, and the judges will get to work very soon.
