Did You Know...

... that a very special NSL Talk group went back to the World Cup 1998?

Lena Jones with 4 Pleasure at the World Cup 1998
posted Jul 31st, 2010 - It all happened by coincidence. The NSL News invited a new group for the next NSL Talk. Eric Heinsheimer, Lena and Joey Jones accepted it and met with the NSL News on Saturday afternoon.

The group had something very special in common, which was discovered ad hoc during the conversation. The topic was actually the Swedish female 4-way team that the NSL News had introduced earlier. Joey Jones had sent a correction note by e-mail and added that the Swedish female lineup of 1998 was the winner of the very first competition in the new female category.

In fact, Lena Bostrom was a team member of this first Swedish lineup, 4Pleasure. She is now married to Joey Jones and joined the NSL Talk when this was discovered.

Joey Jones was also a winner at the same meet in Portugal. He competed with Space Center FX and won over the French 4-way team Perris Maubeuge and the DeLand Norgies with a 22.0 average.

And that was not all for this special NSL Talk group. Eric Heinsheimer competed at the same meet, as well. He won the 8-way gold medals with the Golden Knights and a 21.9 average. Russia was in 2nd place, France in 3rd.

Eric Heinsheimer said that he probably competed for the last time at the CISM Championship in Switzerland. He is in Menzelinsk to earn his FAI judging license and plans to contribute to his sport in a different way from here on. He will bring into the judging community a vast amount of 4-way and 8-way experience and a very sharp eye.
