Did You Know...

... that Polaris does many things for the first time this month?

Polaris at the World Challenge 2010
posted Apr 14th, 2010 - The NSL News had introduced the new Norwegian national 4-way team in the female category, Polaris, with the story on 20 January 2010. The same story mentioned that the World Challenge 2010 would be the first competition for the new lineup.

Polaris made the trip to Bedford and finished with a 19.5 average after eight rounds. The first Polaris story also mentioned that Polaris Tail Sissel Maria Finnseth has a special relationship with DeLand Norgies member Torstein Valen and that she has received the best coaching and advice ever since she finished her AFF jumps.

Torstein Valen made the trip to Bedford, as well, and he had his own team project. The Norgies had another reunion at the World Challenge 2010, this time with Lise Nansen's husband Nikolai. The Norgies celebrated his 40th birthday in January with the tunnel competition.

Norgies 40 at the World Challenge 2010
Norgies 40 actually won the Norwegian competition with Polaris (162 - 156) after eight rounds. Torstein Valen was the Center Inside for the Norgies, Lise Nansen Center Outside, Pal Kolbenstvedt the Point. These are the original slots the Norgies had when they trained and competed for world meet medals.

Polaris has already resumed training after leaving the Bodyflight Bedford windtunnel. The Norwegian national team in the female category made the first outdoor jumps with this lineup today at Skydive DeLand. Coach Steve Hamilton, member of the XL lineup at the World Challenge 2010, is also in DeLand and works with Polaris.

He was the first Sinapsi member arriving in DeLand. The Italian national 4-way team has scheduled a 10-day training camp beginning next week. The NSL News will follow up with Sinapsi information as soon as the team is complete.

First outdoor training for Polaris in DeLand
In the meantime, Steve Hamilton will prepare Polaris for the 2010 season and the World Championship of Formation Skydiving 2010 in Russia where Polaris will represent Norway in the female 4-way category.

The first windtunnel competition of the new Polaris lineup and the first outdoor training jumps in DeLand will be followed by the first outdoor competition this weekend. Skydive Sebastian hosts the April meet of the Florida Skydiving League, and Polaris will make the 2-hour trip south for additional competition experience.

Polaris will meet another team in Sebastian that competed at the World Challenge 2010. SDC Rhythm XP spends the winter in Sebastian and welcomes the visiting teams on their new home turf. The meet is scheduled for Saturday, and the NSL News will be live on site.
