posted Jul 21st, 2015 - It is nothing new that indoor and outdoor training can be mutually very beneficial.

The Sun Path Products NSL News has covered the relationship between the indoor and outdoor world many times, and very specifically on June 25th.

The story explained how the Northwest Skydiving League teams and competitors use the iFLY Seattle facilities and the Indoor Cloud League activities with great results. The success of the NWSL indoor/outdoor combination became even measurable last weekend.

Two NWSL teams, the JOES in the AA Class and Fun Sponge in the A Class, are currently on top of last weekend's overall leaderboard in both categories.

It was not a light weekend at all, as 11 teams competed in the AA Class and 13 in the A Class. The leaderboards of both categories also show that it was a very competitive weekend, as the highscores for the rounds are scattered widely.

NWSL Director Deb Correia has two more of her teams on the same leaderboards, who finished in the middle of the mix. In fact, Das Booties placed 4th in the A Class by improving the meet average from 5.2 in June to 7.3 last weekend.

Deb Correia and her husband Dave both competed with the two teams in the top spots, Deb with Fun Sponge and Dave with the JOES. She said that the meet took place during a Seattle heat wave: "We saw temperatures in the 90s, 15 degrees above normal. Luckily we had a bit of breeze all day, and the temperatures didn't seem to be a factor for the teams."

All four teams competed with the same lineups as in June. Only Das Booties had a new videographer with Nikko Mamallo. Bill Selig was judging the meet. Several members of the JOES, Das Booties and RainAir were not done after the six competition rounds in 4-way and added an 8-way jump before sunset.

Deb Correia also said that former Arizona Airspeed 8-way world champion and Paraclete XP member Andy Honigbaum will visit on the first weekend of August. He will be coaching the JOES, Fun Sponge and Das Booties: "The teams are excited to get additional coaching from Andy, who started his skydiving career at Snohomish."

She is very happy with the current results in her region: "It is exciting to see the NWSL representing so well! Obviously iFly Seattle has had a huge part in this! Given the typical short season in the Northwest, we never could have accomplished this without the tunnel." And off she went for the next Indoor Cloud League event tonight...
