posted Jul 2nd, 2014 - The June competition of the Indoor Cloud League is over, and the new sequences for July have been posted. iFLY Seattle will still follow up with June scores and videos, as Northwest Skydiving League director Deb Correia confirmed.

This means that the June competition could turn out to be the most competitive month in the history of the Indoor Cloud League. The three groups currently on the top of the leaderboard are separated by only four points at the moment. That's nothing new, as three tunnel groups were also only four points away from each other in January this year.

However, there is a major difference, as the groups are not the same. Skydive Arena, iFLY Seattle and iFLY Orlando battled for the top spot in January, while iFLY Orlando, Skydive Arena and iFLY SF Bay are currently separated by four points. iFLY Seattle might still turn the June competition into a 4-team battle after posting the missing scores.

The June results also show once again how the highscores for the six sequences are spread across the leaderboard. iFLY Dallas and SkyVenture Montreal did not get close to the top with their total number of points. However, both claimed sole highscores for one of the six categories.

It was the first time for iFLY Dallas to post the highest score for a sequence since Dallas Khaos member Amanda Lampton joined the Indoor Cloud League competition with her Texas group of teams, competitors and new flyers in March this year.

She said that she had a "full house" again when she invited her group to come together at iFLY Dallas for the June sequences, and her coaches (Scott Levy, Scott Latinis, Todd Hawkins, Lucas King) won the AA Class sequence (D,C,Q,18) in June with a 26-pointer. The same lineup of coaches also performed the AAA Class sequence for iFLY Dallas.

Amanda Lampton had put together eight different lineups for the June sequences, and four of them posted the scores for iFLY Dallas. Coaches Todd Hawkins and Mike Hotchkiss guided Debbie Swensen and Brian Head to the Rookie A and Rookie AA Class scores. Coaches Ron Shipp and Lucas King scored the 16-pointer in the Rookie AAA Class with Lacey Porter and Caleb Rydbeck in the lineup. Todd Hawkins also coached Zach Lewis, Gary Haass and Kyle Hermberg to the 13-pointer in the A Class.

Amy Haass was a new player coach for Amanda Lampton's group at iFLY Dallas. She has been building up her 4-way skills in a player coach team with Mark Kirkby and had Jackie Ellis, Alan Ellis and Chantel Cleghorn in her lineup. Deguello member and Dallas Draft player coach Ron Shipp and Eric Soden, founding member of Dallas Khaos, were also helping the new flyers at iFLY Dallas to put up ICL scores.

Amanda Lampton, herself Dallas Khaos Black member with Eric Soden, was not flying this time, as her jumpsuit was off for repair. She was organizing the NSL Tunnel Kicker event, while the other player coaches were busy flying.

Amanda Lampton also brought some interesting family relationships at the recent NSL Tunnel Kicker at iFLY Dallas to the attention of the Sun Path Products NSL News: "We had a couple of husband/wife teams in the house. Amy's husband, Gary, was getting a little 4-way practice in front of the camera rather than behind where he is usually found. Jackie and Alan Ellis are integral parts of the school at Skydive Dallas."

She also said that the interest in her indoor activities at iFLY Dallas keeps growing into different areas. Participants like Dave DuMais are coming from big-way skydiving to 4-way. Amanda Lampton said that she was on a Team for a Day with him at Skydive Dallas and then on a Team for an Evening at iFly Dallas. Matt O'Gwynn is another big-way participant who had never done 4-way prior to the Tunnel Kicker.

Debbie Swensen and Brian Head were the newest flyers. Brian Head joined with about 50 jumps at the beginning of the month and said that 4-way is a lot harder than he thought. However, the growing interest in the Tunnel Kicker events will most likely result in adding more acitvities soon. Amanda Lampton said that "It's a work in progress..."
