Did You Know...

... that Air Rush from Denmark won the A Class competition with 16 teams last weekend?

A Class winner Air Rush from Denmark
posted May 20th, 2014 - The biggest outdoor leaderboard of the 2014 season is complete after the scores from the 2014 season opener of the United Kingdom Skydiving League in Sibson were added to the scores from Denmark and Florida, USA.

A total of 46 teams competed last weekend, and the teams of the Czech Republic Skydiving League would have made the leaderboard even bigger and more exciting with better weather. The meet in Pribram was canceled due to a very unpromising weather forecast.

The A Class competition had the largest participation with 16 teams from the three different countries. Nine teams from the United Kingdom, five from Denmark and two from Florida mixed up for a very interesting A Class leaderboard. The winner after the maximum (10) and the minimum (3) number of rounds was the same: Air Rush from Denmark.

A Class awards in Sibson, United Kingdom
Miami Exuberance of the Florida Skydiving League set the minimum number of rounds with only three. The UK teams completed the six scheduled rounds, while the Danish teams at the DFU Cup had ten rounds on their meet agenda. The adjusted leaderboard shows the rankings after Round 3 and the highest scores for those three rounds that were completed by all 16 teams.

8-pointers were the magic number in the first three rounds, and six teams shared them between each other. Satori Red finished in 3rd place after Round 3, and also after Round 6 in Sibson, without any of the 8-pointers and with the most consistent scoring (6-7-7-7-7-6) of all teams.

Air Rush would have been in the 1st place after the six rounds in the United Kingdom, as well, even though it was only a 1-point lead after Round 6.

The teams in the first three places know each other, as they all competed at the World Challenge 2014 in the same category. They had a very close and exciting competition in Bedford, as well, as the indoor leaderboard shows.

However, the outcome was different at the outdoor competition where Air Rush outscored Hard Corps by two points after three rounds and by one point after six rounds. Hard Corps had finished two points ahead of the Danish team at Bodyflight Bedford.

DeLand 3D did not only win the Rookie Class competition in Florida, as the Sun Path Products NSL News reported on 18 May 2014. The new Rookie Class team also outscored all UK teams in this category and took the 1st place on the Rookie Class leaderboard.
