NSL News Coverage of the FAI Indoor World Cup 2024

Did You Know...

... that the month of December is very important for the Florida group at iFLY Orlando?

FSL December group at iFLY Orlando
posted Dec 19th, 2013 - The Sun Path Products NSL News reported on 9 December 2013 that the Indoor Cloud League had its busiest month in November with record participation in the young history of the league.

The momentum seems to continue in December, as the first scores have been posted earlier than ever before. The Florida Skydiving League group posted scores and videos for all six sequences after the NSL Tunnel Kicker at iFLY Orlando on Tuesday night this week.

December is an important month for the Florida group, as the other top contender for the overall ICL winner of the year, the Northwest Skydiving League group at iFLY Seattle, has taken a 1-point lead (6 - 5) after the completion of the January - November events. Florida has to win the December competition to catch up with the Northwest. The total score for the year would then become the tie-breaker. Florida has the total lead after the November results (1265 - 1256).

Tunnel Kicker briefing with Mikhail Markine
The Florida group is aware of the challenging situation and has scheduled two indoor events in December for the complete group. iFLY Orlando has hosted one event in the past, and the Florida group could only improve the scores with additional indoor camps by teams or individuals.

The Florida plan for December also includes indoor camps that precede the two scheduled NSL Tunnel Kicker events and prepare the participants for the six sequences, which follow during the competition part of the flying sessions.

Ari Perelman has held the training camps in earlier months this year and was not available this week. Fortunately, SDC Rhythm XL member Mikhail Markine was able to fill in as the head coach for the indoor training before the competition session on Tuesday.

16-pointer in Rookie A Class: Team ZEUS
SDC Rhythm XP has once again moved to Skydive Sebastian in Florida for the winter season. Wednesday was the first outdoor training day of the recent camp, and Mikhail Markine had to leave after the hour of indoor training for the Florida group.

However, the participants were well prepared for the competition session later at night, and the total of 119 points is a great starting point for the month of December. Ari Perelman will be back for the second FSL night at iFLY Orlando at the end of December, where the group will try to improve the scores for this most important month. Florida's 22-pointer in the A Class was already answered by a 4way team at SkyVenture Montreal...

The SDC Rhythm XP members will be engaged in other events and team coaching for the whole winter season in Florida. Steve Lefkowitz has committed to the annual 4way Scrambles at Skydive City on the first February weekend, and all members are available for coaching at any time that doesn't interfere with the team training.
