Did You Know...

... that Polaris had a successful reunion in Dubai?

Bronze medals at the Mondial Dubai 2012
posted Dec 7th, 2013 - The Aerodyne French Girls won the last round over SDC Rhythm XP and would be tied in 3rd place with the US team in the Open Class competition. However, the separate category for 4way Women was very beneficial for the French team this time, as the 1st place was rewarded with $15,000 prize money, the same amount as in the 4way Open Class.

The 20.9 average is a strong statement, as only a few top teams were able to score higher than they did at the Mondial Dubai 2012.

Polaris from Norway, bronze medalist at the Mondial Dubai 2012, did not really plan to challenge the team's own 17.8 average posted at the same place a year ago. It was somehow a surprise for the team members that they were so close to their 2012 numbers without much training at all.

Polaris 1 - 10
Polaris and friends after Round 10 at the 4th DIPC 2013
Polaris completed one training camp prior to the competition in Dubai with approx. 50 jumps. Mathias Nord, former Arcteryx member, was coaching Polaris in the desert dropzone of Skydive Dubai.

The 2013 season was the 4th year for Polaris. The team competed for the first time at the World Challenge 2010 and then competed for Norway in Menzelinsk 2010 (5th - 15.9) before winning the bronze medals (17.8) at the Mondial Dubai 2012.

Polaris had no serious plans to continue at the end of the 2012 season but attended once again the World Challenge 2013. The next reunion now took place in Dubai and was very successful. However, Polaris has no plans for next year, as the team members said during the live NSL Talk on Friday after the last jump of the competition. Another reunion at any meet next year would still not be a big surprise, as the Polaris members enjoyed the latest one in Dubai...
