Did You Know...

... that NMP-PCH Hayabusa experimented with different engineering in Round 9?

Friday morning action at the 4th DIPC 2013
posted Dec 6th, 2013 - It will be a busy day at the 4th Dubai International Parachuting Championship 2013. There is a threat of bad weather in the following days, and the host is trying to complete all events today.

The new NSL Reality TV clip is showing some of the activities on Friday morning when several events were in full swing, while competitors of other events were getting ready to join the action. The three Formation Skydiving events that have not been completed yet are open only in 8way where Monaco Vitalsea and Dubai Asaar are battling for the 1st place and the $22,500 prize money. The team in 2nd place will still get $18,000 and Fly Tanay from Russia can expect to take home $13,500 for the 3rd place.

NMP-PCH Hayabusa cashes in $15,000 for the 1st place. Barkli gets $10,000 and SDC Rhythm XP $8,000 for the 2nd and 3rd places. The French Girls don't have to worry about their battle with the Open Class team, as the winner in the female category gets their own $15,000. Polaris takes home the $10,000 for the 2nd place, and the Dubai Asaar Ladies seem to be safe in 3rd place. The three VFS 4way teams also knew exactly how much money ($15,000 - $10,000 - $8,000) each team would win.

NMP-PCH Hayabusa dive engineering
The video of the last two NMP-PCH Hayabusa jumps (Rounds 8 - 9) is showing the 23-pointer in Round 8, which coach Gary Smith defined as an average performance. Average under current Hayabusa standards stands for 23-pointers or higher, even for 3-block sequences or other slow rounds.

The 22-pointer in Round 6 was only caused by a questionable point deduction that the Sun Path Products NSL News covered earlier. Then came Round 9 with a score that was way below Hayabusa standards. It was in September 2012 that Hayabusa scored below 20 points the last time. Each of the 38 competition rounds after that were 22-pointers or higher, with the exception of one 20-pointer - until Round 9 in Dubai.

Coach Gary Smith said that Hayabusa experimented with an unusual engineering of the sequence, which included a slot switcher for the front piece, even though there was none of the typical memory blocks (3, 5, 10, 12, 16, 17) in the sequence. The situation was the right one for any experiments, as there is no competition for Hayabusa in Dubai...
