Did You Know...

... that Sunny Wind continues with an extended lineup?

First Sunny Wind training camp in 2012
posted Oct 17th, 2013 - The Sun Path Products NSL News had introduced a new Russian 4way team project with the story on 25 October 2012. Sunny Wind was a combination of two teams (Wild Wind - Sunny Heaven) who appeared on previous NSL leaderboards and started with a training camp in DeLand last fall.

Sunny Wind is another Russian example where a sponsor or two join forces with very experienced 4way or 8way competitors to advance their skills and enjoy 4way competition. The Sunny Wind lineup includes Vladimir Ostanin, who is one of the most experienced Russian competitors in history.

He was in the 8way lineup of 1987 who won the first medals at a World Championship of Formation Skydiving for Russia with a 3rd place in Brazil. Then he won 8way silver medals two years later in Spain. He added three more sets of 8way bronze medals in 1991, 1993 and 1995 and another silver medal in 1997.

Valentin Ilin was the main player coach since the team was formed. He had trained and competed with two Russian top teams in the past, Crossroads and Gradient Alpha. Experienced competitor Vladimir Arutyunov (FlyStation) also filled a slot for Sunny Wind a few times this year.

Valery Gredasov (Point) and Alexey Nevorotov (Tail) are the founders and sponsors of Sunny Wind and have made new plans for the 2014 season after a successful year. They have actually decided to extend the lineup to be more flexible for the upcoming training and competition schedule.

Alexey Minaev and Alexander Tychinskiy have accepted the Sunny Wind invitation, while Vadim Niyzzov continues on camera. The complete Sunny Wind lineup has recently been training in DeLand and began to accommodate the idea of a flexible lineup.

Sunny Wind fall 2013 training camp in DeLand: Vadim Niyzzov, Vladimir Ostanin, Valentin Ilin, Valery Gredasov, Alexander Tychinskiy
Valery Gredasov, Valentin Ilin, Vladimir Ostanin and Alexander Tychinskiy have trained together for the first two weeks, with Vadim Niyzzov on camera. Alexey Minaev arrives this weekend to fill the slot for Valery Gredasov who has to go back to Russia and take care of business. Alexey Nevorotov was not available at all for this fall camp.

The competition plans for the 2014 season have always three of the player coaches in the Sunny Wind lineup with either Valery Gredasov or Alexey Nevorotov. Valery Gredasov will compete with Valentin Ilin, Alexander Tychinskiy and Vladimir Ostanin at the Paraclete XP Outdoor Championship 2014.

Alexey Nevorotov will get his turn next at the Russian Cup 2014. Valery Gredasov and Alexey Nevorotov will then even take turns within the same meet at the Russian Nationals 2014 where each of them will be in the lineup for five consecutive rounds. It seems like there will be an internal Sunny Wind competition, as well...
