August 2020 is the month when the FAI Mondial 2020, with the World Championship of Formation Skydiving as the main part of it, was supposed to take place in Tanay, Russia. The world-wide corona virus crisis caused the cancellation and rescheduling of the event, which will now be held in August 2021 at the same location.
Teams all over the world have not had the opportunity in 2020 to compare their performance and scoring level directly at any major outdoor event, which is taking away the main purpose of any training efforts.
Most of the skydiving centers have reopened at this point in time, and teams are back in training, while the restrictions of the pandemic still do not allow events to take place in the usual live format.
The National Skydiving League has been offering online competition in various formats in the past and will now add the unique opportunity to post scores and videos for a serious simulation of a high-profile 4-way and 8-way competition at roughly the time that the world meet was originally scheduled for.
Participating teams have a defined time-frame (August 29 - October 25) to perform the same competition draw, which is exhausting the complete dive pool with eleven rounds. All eleven rounds will be used to create the leaderboards in the three FAI/ISC categories. Participating teams can perform the eleven rounds at any skydiving center within the time-frame.
Participating teams upload the videos of the eleven rounds to an online server, which is only accessible for the NSL, until October 25th. The NSL will post scores and judged videos only after the judging procedure of all submitted videos has been completed by InTime.
The 4-way Open Class leaderboard will offer a draw for all four NSL categories (AAA - AA - A - RRR), and it is not limited to national 4-way teams, who will get their own separate leaderboard in the editorial coverage of the event.
