... that the Shamrock Showdown included a 4-way VFS duel?

SDC Core at the Shamrock Showdown 2015
posted Mar 23rd, 2016 - The Shamrock Showdown 2016 included once again a 4-way VFS competition, as well. SDC Core's team captain Jason Russell was in DeLand last year with his 2015 lineup to use the scoring and judging opportunity at the beginning of the competition season.

It turned out to be a valuable experience, and the lineup in DeLand won the gold medals at the USPA Nationals 2015.

SDC Core invited more VFS teams to attend this year's Shamrock Showdown. However, only the Golden Knights followed the call and started the 2016 season with a 12.1 outdoor average. The new lineup, with Dan Osorio replacing 8-way world champion Jesse Stahler, had also competed at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2016.

Jason Russell had a new lineup, as well. USPA champion Ryan Risberg cannot continue with SDC Core, and the team competed with a substitute in DeLand. Sam Lendle visited from the west coast and finished with a 16.4 average.

Jason Russell said that the Core lineup will change again this year. He plans to bring back one of his former Dubai Nexus team mates to go after the world meet gold medals. SDC Core is far

behind the 2015 scoring level (20.6) at this point in time and after the Shamrock Showdown.

France (Transfert) and Canada (Evolution) might see an opportunity to get closer to the U.S. national team this year, and the gold medals at the Mondial 2016 could be in reach for other contenders. However, Jason Russell is very much aware of this situation and has his own plans...
