posted Mar 5th, 2016 - The Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2016 does not only feature a 3-team battle between SDC Rhythm XP, the 4-way Women team of the Golden Knights and the original Perris Fury lineup. The Golden Knights 8-way team has split up into two 4-way lineups, and the Gold team (Kurt Isenbarger, Matt Davidson, Sean Sweeney, Jesse Stahler) in in 1st place after Round 7.

The 4-way teams were done with their Saturday work early in the afternoon, and the 8-way competition is scheduled for the afternoon. The Golden Knights have no serious competition in 8-way, and the two 4-way lineups could put all energy into the 4-way rounds.

The Gold team was surely enjoying the 4-way adventure, even though two of the team members are experts in the other event, as well. Kurt Isenbarger was in the U.S. Army's 4-way lineup that won the USPA Nationals 2002 and won silver medals for the U.S. delegation at the World Meet 2003 in Gap. Matt Davidson was in the 4-way lineup of the next six years (2004 - 2009) before the Golden Knights switched back to 8-way as the main event.

Sean Sweeney was in the 8-way lineup when Brian "BK" Krause re-built the team, and he was also selected for the Gold team in 2009 (Kurt Isenbarger, Matt Davidson, Brian Krause). Jesse Stahler is one of the newest and youngest Golden Knights members with very little 4-way competition experience.

He competed with the Gold team at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2015 when Kurt Isenbarger was not available and finished with a 22.8 average. The Gold lineup this weekend is currently in 1st place with a 29.0 average.

The U.S. Army delegation has three teams within the first seven rankings of this year's event, including 1st and 2nd. Even the 4-way Women lineup is quite impressed that the Gold team is actually ahead of them.

Not only the female Golden Knights are surprised by the impressive performance of the Gold team. Perris Fury and SDC Rhythm XP probably did not expect the positions on the current leaderboard as they are after Round 7. The three teams have their battle as it was expected, However, the Gold team is nine points ahead in 1st place.

The Golden Knights are ahead of SDC Rhythm XP for the first

time, which could also be expected. However, Rhythm has gained strength after a slow start and is within striking distance for the last three rounds.

It is also the new Rhythm lineup, with JaNette and Steve Lefkowitz in different slots and with new piece partners, while the Golden Knights compete with the original lineup. Rhythm won the last four rounds by a total of three points, and the Golden Knights still have to work hard to finish ahead of Rhythm for the first time. The 8-way teams are in the flying chamber in the afternoon.
