Did You Know...

... that Satori's comeback has become reality?

Last time on the leaderboard: UK Nationals 2013
posted Jul 3rd, 2015 - It has been a long time since the name of the British 4-way team Satori appeared on any leaderboard.

In fact, it was the UK Nationals 2013 where Satori won with a 20.5 average. Julia Foxwell, Aaron Faith, Ian Hodgkinson and John McIver were in the last lineup, with Dave Head on camera.

Two years have gone by, and there is still no leaderboard with Satori on it. However, this may change this year, as the rumors of a Satori comeback have materialized with 24 training jumps on Thursday. There seems to be a realistic chance that Satori will be back on the UK leaderboard later this year.

XL team mates since 1998: John McIver - Pete Allum
Julia Swallow confirmed that her new Satori lineup started with team training on Thursday. She had taken a break for pregnancy and the first year of motherhood.

The Satori lineup has changed, as the new team name indicates: Satori XL. Pete Allum has taken Aaron Faith's slot and joins forces with his former XL team mate John McIver. Julia Foxwell and Ian "Milko" Hodgkinson are the Satori part of the team who completed the 24 training jumps on Thursday. Satori videographer Dave Head is also back on camera.

The Sun Path Products NSL News had reported on December 26th, 2014, that Satori had plans for a comeback in 2015. However, the BPA (British Parachute Association) Council voted unanimously to send national 4-way champion Voodoo to compete for Great Britain at the 5th DIPC 2014, and the comeback plans were abandoned - temporarily...

Same Satori lineup since 2011
Rumors of Satori comeback plans continued to float around in the UK 4-way community, and the story on May 26th included a live NSL Talk with Gary Smith and Joey Jones, who discussed the 4-way situation in the United Kingdom this year.

They said that Satori might be in the mix of top contenders for this year's 4-way title, even after the 2-year break.

Pete Allum and John McIver have been training and competing together on world class level for many years with XL. They placed 4th for Great Britain at three consecutive world meets (1999 - 2001 - 2003). Julia Swallow is the only remaining Satori founding member of 2008. Ian "Milko" Hodgkinson replaced Katie Wookds in 2011 and has been Satori member ever since. The challenge is on for all other UK top contenders, as this year's national championship is the qualifyer for the World Meet 2016 in the USA.
