Did You Know...

... that NSL-TV features the 2-point UK battle in 4-way Women?

NFTO at the World Challenge 2015
posted Apr 16th, 2015 - The preview of the 4-way Women competition at the World Challenge 2015 left no doubt on 22 March 2015 that a good battle could be expected between NFTO and Fly Like A Girl. It turned out that the two UK teams finished two points away from each other in 2nd and 3rd place. The Golden Knights were even too far ahead for any UK hopes to somehow stay within striking distance.

The exchange of highscores between the pick-up team of British top performers and the better trained NFTO lineup alone was still exciting enough to watch. NFTO's complete lineup for the 2015 season lost the 2-point battle only in Round 5, where the memory sequence and a few point deductions created enough trouble to create a 5-point difference only in this round.

NFTO won or tied eight of the ten rounds and won the 9-round meet by three points. However, the damage in the last round of the first day was too much, and the highly experienced British Flying Girls defended the 4-point lead after Round 5 successfully.

Laura James and Claire "Sparky" Scott had competed for NFTO at the Wind Games 2015, together with Anna Hicks and Ane Brentford. NFTO members Maria Russel and Rai Ahmed were back in their slots in Bedford.

It will now be interesting so see what Laura James, Kate Lindsley, Liz Matthews and Claire Scott will do at this year's UK Nationals. It is hard to imagine that the passionate 4-way top performers would not challenge NFTO at least once again later this year.

The complete NFTO lineup had a good start into the 2015 season, and the team has a training plan. The Sun Path Products NSL News will follow up later with a live interview recorded during the World Challenge 2015.

The additional video clip was also recorded during the live on-line streaming at WorldChallenge.info. The camera team was filming on the flight level when the 4-way Women teams were in the middle of a competition round.

Flying Like A Girl member Claire "Sparky" Scott had her personal support team at Bodyflight Bedford. Her husband Andy Scott was taking care of their young children, while she was turning points in the flying chamber.

Andy Scott was engaged with developing Formation Skydiving competition for the British Parachute Association (BPA) years ago. He founded the United Kingdom Skydiving League and introduced the four NSL competition categories first at the league meets and later at the national championships. BPA still applies the same categories successfully, and the 4-way community has continued to grow ever since Andy Scott was an active contributor. He also competed in 4-way and 8-way and still jumps from planes...
