Did You Know...

... that Arizona Airspeed had two different meets at the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship?

Late arrival: Arizona Airspeed
posted Mar 1st, 2015 - The live streaming of the Paraclete XP Indoor Championship 2015 brought the meet atmosphere to the audience in many ways.

The Sun Path Products NSL News had the opportunity to focus on updating the leaderboards regularly and prepare for the aftermath of the event. However, the first video clip presents Arizona Airspeed while the competition is still in full 8-way swing.

The Airspeed story alone is interesting enough for an earlier feature story though. The Sun Path Products NSL News reported earlier that Airspeed's flight from the west to the east coast was canceled due to weather reasons. However, host Tim D'Annunzio made alternate plans to allow Airspeed to join the competition and catch up step by step.

It was a very interesting situation for Arizona Airspeed and for the AAA Class field at Paraclete. Airspeed had to get ready quickly after arrival at approx. 10 AM on Saturday. They joined the 4-way competition at the end of the morning session and before the 8-way competition began.

Airspeed started with Round 6 and completed Round 7 together with all other 4-way teams. It was a great start, despite the previous travel adventure and the challenging schedule after arrival, as the first two highscores for those two rounds show on the leaderboard.

The situation changed when the other 4-way teams were done after Round 7. Airspeed began catching up with the missing rounds when the 8-way teams entered the flying chamber.

Sole highscore in Round 3: Golden Knights
Airspeed now went back to Round 1 and was flying while the 8-way teams competed. There was also one Rookie Class team catching up after missing the earlier rounds. Timing and rotation changed, and the video shows Airspeed trying to get ready for Round 2.

The leaderboard somehow reflects the challenges of the different schedule. Airspeed posted all sole highscores when they competed together with all other 4-way teams, while the scores for Rounds 1 - 5 look very different.

Airspeed allowed SDC Rhythm XP and Golden Knights to share the highscores for the first five rounds that they completed during the 8-way session. Airspeed was completely integrated into the 4-way rotation on Sunday morning (Rounds 8 - 10) and added 11 points to the lead on those three rounds. The $4,000 for the 1st place may compensate for the painful travel experiences...
